If you can get your hands on any of the WC Heinz compilations, he makes for fantastic reading. Not just boxing, but stories from throughout the sports world. Amazing writer.
Of course, Heinz could he one of those Circle folks, in which case its probably a lot of "Herschel Durschel, The Fighting Pride of Krakow" or such illuminating fare, or, "How I Survived Auschwitz Only To Get Blitzed By Marciano" the Harry Haft-Assed story. "Ja, Diese Harry has ze good jab and ze most functional weight advantage since ze A-bomb. I deem him pound for pound ze best. Cigaretten??"
George Foreman's autobio, By George, was an interesting and amusing read. Like the bits about how he was robbed against Holyfield and how he was about to knock out Ali but got distracted by seeing a disloyal friend the audience betray him by rooting for Ali. There's also Larry Holmes's book, where Larry talks about rejecting the touchy-feely sexual advances of a drunk Howard Cosell.
