George never liked coming in the ring dry.

Denmark is a cold place full of 'snow monsters' and ice-bergs,.. Had Kessler's norse father rejumbled his surname through tribal initiation on conquered Dublin soil, and knighted his princes acsension to 'Berg' or 'snow monster',.. it might have had a profound effect on Kellerman that night, for better or worse.

don't forget about the jab to the body which magically sucks a fighter's energy dry.

Yes, but IT HAPPENS IT HAPPENS!!! BANG!! WANT SOME MORE?? BANG!! Frank Cappucino, you can stop it anytime, but please don't, cos it is TV GOLD!! Bang!

Never follow a puncher around the ring, especially when you come in the ring DRAH and when you don't go to the body and when you waste the first 4 seconds of the 1st round feeling out your opponent....."LEGS! DON'T FAIL ME NOW"!!

More than anything, Lampley's permission to Capuccino to stop the fight was exposes the mentality HBO has - that they're in charge and they call the shots.

I've often wondered if judges and/or referees haven't deiberately made bad calls just to defy HBO and to crush the appearance they run boxing.

George made me laugh almost every fight

i actually had a clip a long time ago, made from seperate broadcasts... one of them where George is saying "The Tall fighter has it easy, he just punches down and the extra reach and weight will hurt the short fighters back"

then the next clip was from a different broadcast where he says "The Shorter fighter.. all he has to do is close his eyes and punch upwards!"

    LOL!!!

I also liked Jim Grey (showtime), i can not believe no one knocked him out.. he acts like such an asshole..

i remember after the Roy-Montell fight i think it way, Grey is holding the mic right in griffens face while the play the clip of Griffen getting Knocked out and Jim asks... "what is going through your mind while he is just BATTERING you here"

David Haye should start doing commentary for HBO. Give his professional thoughts on big fights an all, you get me.

We need a Foremanisms thread. SecondsOut used to have one, and it was just fantastic. Does anyone remember when Big George started doing commentary for HBO?

He did some work before that, I know he did the commentary for Norris-Curry which was in 1991.
