Barring getting caught with one of those ridiculous body hooks, Khan is far too fast... he'd win a 118-110 type of decision

I don't think it would be that easy for Khan.

It would be. I'm not even sure Ward lasts the distance.

Ward had only two things: the courage that convinced him that he belonged in the ring with world-class comp against all logic and one of the most vicious single body punches in history... other than that, he was a clubfighter at best... His defense was non existent and he didn't have any means of really pressuring a guy effectively, especially a really fast guy... He lacked the skills or quickness to slip and weave his way in, he had no offensive weapons to get there either... he didn't have a jab to speak of... his right hand was like a fly-swatter, his left upstairs was nothing to write home about either... he just had that liver shot... it's not enough... Barring getting overconfident and staying in fornt of Ward for a few seconds too long, Khan ought to be able to just keep moving and throwing one twos at him...

Exactly. If this Khan 4-5 years ago perhaps Amir comes in over-confident and Ward is able to capitalize on some mistake. Even then it's an outside chance.

I'm not huge on Khan but he's just way too much for Micky.

    Good old Mickey Ward.

Ward breaks him down and stops him in seven or eight rounds. :warning:

No way, Ward doesn't know how to break a guy down:lol:

Landing one of those shots is his only real chance

I was gonna say Khan can be tempted to trade in mid to later rounds in a 12 rounder thinking Ward can be broken down and then a body blow surprise like Kahn has never felt before. Ward has a slight shot, but then again I thought Gatti had a slight shot against Mayweather, although Gatti did not have that same power shot. GS

Gatti hit harder than Ward and has stopped guys to the body as well. Ward was just a bit better at that one shot as all his eggs were in that basket.

Agreed... Gatti hit well with all of his punches... Ward couldn't break an egg upstairs

Yeah it's weird. Ward must have had anatomy knowledge or something.

A punch like is more about hitting a sweet spot than force. It's one thing to hurt a guy to the body, it's quite another to temporarily paralyze them.

And he must have ended 6 or 7 fights exactly that way... and probably turned another dozen in his favor... it's incredible

A ward/khan fight would possibly be similar to judah/ward, but with ward having more success against khan.
