Most unbelievable comebacks in boxing history

Name some comebacks that you would have thought far fetched if seen in a movie. You know the ridiculously impossible comebacks where a guy is seemingly on his way to getting knocked out and pulls out the fight or waaaaaaaaay down on the scorecards and getting outboxed/outfought completely but somehow keeps fighting and pulls it out.

What are the best examples of this?

 

carbajal vs. arce
ward vs. sanchez, but it was seen in a movie.

 

LaMotta's last-gasp KO was as good as it gets.

Also, for his age, the pummeling he took, and how far gone he was on the cards, Foreman-Moorer.

Both seem like formulaic Hollywood fantasy.

 

Trying to think of some not so obvious ones (Chavez/Taylor, Castro/Jackson etc. are always named)

Would love to hear about some obscure shit that I can take a look at.

 

Foreman - Moorer is a great example.

Corrales-Castillo is a good example in that at that point Chico was going to lose the decision after the two KDs and he looked as though he was one KD from being stopped.

There are no unbelivable comebacks in boxing to me. I believe them all afterall I saw them with my own eyes.

For an excellent obscure one, Raul Hernandez 16-25-2 (12) KO10 over 19-0 (11) Leonardo Mas. Pretty sure Mas won every second of that fight except for the last 10. Almost positive that Mas had won every round.

A random one I like is Junior Jones vs. Rich Everett. Check it out if you can. Jones is on shakey (shot) legs the whole time and then clobbers Everett with a left hook in round 11! Completely out of the blue, especially since Jones was known for his straight right hand more than anything. Ask Barrera

 

In a way, Briggs-Liakhovich. Fight was so unbelievably boring and Shannon is so passive as a fighter that I'm not sure anyone expected him to pull out a literal last second knockout.

If not best comebacks, then perhaps a worthy candidate to "great endings to shitty fights."

 

could you imagine if Tyson had KO'd Buster with that uppercut in round 8?

Chris Eubanks comeback is the greatest of all time. Way behind on points, he is floored heavily, but rises to permanently maim his opponent.

Agreed. The winner of this thread is Eubank-Watson II... the very next punch too! It has to be the most unbelievable comeback I have ever seen.

 

McGuigans commentary is priceless......"He's not gonna knock him out, his legs are gone, he's gulping water, its a question of whether he can last the next 2 rounds....".




Watson had, effectively, 90 seconds left in his career and his life as he knew it was on the verge of ending.

 

Best round in boxing history for my money.

Eubank was ugly and motherfuckingly annoying but he had as much heart as any fighter in history.
