Just looking at DeGales last fight on boxnation.......interestingly, why wasn't John Rawling talking bollox about Home-Town decisions that night? DeGale won, but it was the same sort of majority decision that Britsch won tonight in Germany, just a little closer on the cards. Rawling really does strike me as being typical of the sort of "sportscaster" buffoon who is given far too wide a platform from which to spout his guff.

DeGale won that comfortably in the end. It wasn't as close as the scorecards stated, IMO. I remember him struggling up to the half way point or so, but wasn't troubled in the latter rounds. His work up close was good and landed some nice uppercuts too, from what I remember.

Irish, what do you make of Top Rank's commentators?

He was hurt badly in the 5th. I'm not disputing the result, just the blatant nonsense in the commentary. Duke had the Britsch fella winning by 2 rounds tonight, and Rawling was trying to put a spin on it. Just an observation.

Bottom line is I raised doubts about the quality of the commentary and analysis that boxnation might offer us. Andy Kerr is half-decent, Woodhalls a pratt, Rawlings a pratt, Duke is harmless, and tried hard. Bunce I respect, he's been around. Steve Lillis is an utter bell-end of St Pauls Cathedral dimensions. Richard Keys is, well....we know all about him.

Pity, eh?? I'd like to see Bunce, Mike Costello, Colin Hart {who is a prude but knowledgeable and reasonable}, John Conteh, and star-guests and other active fighters.

    Who do they have?

I really only know the HBO, ESPN and the Showtime dudes. And the usual suspects at SKY.

Them and those banjo-strings at "Versus". :bs:

Duke harmless? Being that retarded and on TV is a crime, there's nothing harmless about that, it's fucked up.

Kernel Bob Sheridan is Top Rank, right? He used to be Don King. Seems a bit of a yes man but I remember he did the commentary on the radio for the Lennox vs Grant fight on the BBC....Wlad vs Bostice was on the undercard and I THINK McCracken vs Holmes for the WBC Middle Title in England.

That was a good while ago and he impressed me, you got the impression something was actually happening, which it was, Bostice was being floored. Steve Collins was doing co-commentary.

Ah, those were the days, with the radio....all that wing-wing-wang-wing interference, moving around the room trying to get a reception.

Duke is alright. He sits there and doesn't try to give it the big "I AM" every two seconds. He calls the fights and doesn't play the agenda game like Trawling John Rawling.

DeGale was indeed hurt badly, but came back strong, showing heart and determination. The first half of the fight was alot tougher for DeGale compared with the second half.

Why the fuck is Keys on there! Lol. He just seems like he hasn't a clue about what's really going on. I can't really stand Bunce, but he knows his stuff and he's been around, so I can just about handle him. I like McKenzie. Woodhall is weird. Hart's a tad odd, but I enjoy listening to him.

McKenzie has the IQ of a fencepost. He literally has no idea what he's talking about, he seems to barely know where he is, let alone have the ability to commentate or analyse a fight.
