I think GWTW is the better movie, but Boggart is a better actor than Gable IMO.

You're wrong. Those 2 are a couple of the best films ever made that stand the test of time for any era. You know how I know?

Because everyone says so that's how.

I DIDN'T MISS it...I knew you were being SARCASTIC!!!!!....OLD MOVIES DO SUCK...

Like those members who say boxer before 1960-1970 were overated, garbage, whatever....

IMO movies before 1960 were limited slow moving bums...I don't give to shit if movie directors copy their styles...or whatever

ILLU, GREAT CALL On "Rear Window"... I absolutely LOVE that film... 12 Angry Men is a classic as well

I tend to agree that the appeal of a lot of these old films is somewhat mystifying to me... but there are some oldies I enjoy... "Gunga Din" for example... but yeah, there is an excessive amount of theatrics and cheesiness involved in these films for the most part... FWIW, I enjoyed Casablanca for the most part... GWTW was boring, a soap opera

Touch of evil is my fave pre-60s film

"Treasure Of The Sierra Madre" was a very good film.

Never actually sat through all of "GWTW" or "Casablanca".

    12 Angry Men is great.

My favourite old school film was about some poor kid who had a horse, and then some little rich bitch stole the horse and wouldn't give it back. So they argued and fought over it until they decided to put the horse in the middle of them both and called it's name, so whoever it went to would get the horse. The horse went to the boy but he ended up giving it to the girl anyway, which made the whole exercise kind of pointless, but I learnt alot from that film. Good stuff.

Bogart was not a great actor. He was interesting, but he played the same character over and over again. Clark Gable was better.

And GWTW was clearly the better movie although Casablanca is more quotable.

Since I'm the only person to have watched both and I possess much more knowledge, intelligence, and experience, my opinion should end this thread.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know the name of my horse film (and no it isn't anything to do with what Irish was on about in TAAA)

Watch Bogart in "Treasure Of the Sierra Madre" or "The African Queen".

much different from his roles in "Casablanca" or "The Maltese Falcon". He wasn't always the cool film noir private detective type.

He could actually play pathetic when he needed to.

Clark Gable just displayed more versatility. In fact, he showed more versatility in Gone With The Wind than Bogart showed in his whole career.
