It is same as in LA or such cities with gang violence. The gangs kill each other but for outsiders it is not as dangerous as the numbers suggest.

Be honest though...since you're of somewhat Eastern European background...blacks are not liked or respected in that part of the world....even less than in Britain or even the States.

I have zero Eastern European background, that has been made up by yourself. I have studied some Russian, I have visited the country and I live near it, but I have no relations there and because of the war history Finland and Russia don't generally come along very well.

That being said, you are correct about the racial thing. Black people have always been rare in Russia and elsewhere in East Europe so racism exists there. For those people Russia might be more dangerous a country compared to West Europe but overall it gets exaggerated. I am pretty sure you haven't been in Russia for example

Also the story of the poorest war strategy in the history. Stalin had killed several generals of his army beforehand (paranoid as he was, he saw them as a threat to himself). Soviet Union's strategy was mostly to line up thousand guys and run towards Finland's defensive line (no joke). In 5 ft of snow, with old rifles, and against well-covered guys, some of who even had machine guns, that tactic wasn't the most effective one.

What I have read, the real number is about 200, even though claims of 500 have been made. Finland's war ropaganda exaggerated the amount of his kills, which often happens during any war. Again, not to dimish him, the way how he shot guys from 1200 ft away with a regular rifle of those days was pretty impressive
