How did Pryor possibly cheat in the Arguello rematch?

Take into account the fact that Aaron cheated for the Arguello fight......then come back to us. Historically, "knowing" what he "know" now.....Aaron might just come in for some serious reconsideration.

The fact that he won the first match, and the beating dished out to Arguello throughout, might not have happened, had he not cheated in the first one. Then there is the psychological matter for Arguello of having already lost, he may have felt there was no way he could win. Remember what he said about making a decision to not get back up from the final knockdown, even though he could have risen.

Toney, clearly. Better achievements, better opposition beat. Unless you penalize Toney a ton for positive drug tests, and being fat.

Answer me this...... physically, did Pryor fight ANY differently in the rematch than he did in the first fight?

And we'll never know for sure WHAT the hell was in that bottle. Ive heard some (not you) say it was cocaine. Which is comical.

Its not like Margarita, who was a PROVEN cheat.

Personally...... I believe Aaron Pryor was a NATURALLY awesome fighter.

I agree with you that he beats any version of Tszyu.

Ricardo Lopez...the dude never lost and Sal had a loss.

Felix Trinidad Sr. or Floyd Mayweather Sr.

To me, Lopez. He was amazing, but I wouldnt argue if someone cited Sanchez's opposition.

    Casamayor or Vargas?

Good question. Casamayor MIGHT have an edge in accomplishments, but thats highly questionable.

If the question was who was BETTER, I wouldnt have to think twice.

Vargas in his brief prime was BETTER than Casamayor ever was.

No, he didn't fight any different. But Arguello might have. Never underestimate how Arguello felt and fought accordingly. Remember also...Arguello, as far as he was concerned, had lost to the better man. He didn't know he had been {allegedly} jobbed and so wouldn't have been able to draw inspiration from that.

pryor wouldve knocked tszyu out, but his resume at 140lbs was clearly inferior.

Arguello was clearly PHYSICALLY diminished after the first fight. But thats expected. It was one of the most savage fights in history, and father time wasnt on his side.

To me, its more a question of how Pryor looked. If he had been slower, and less sharp in the rematch, the bottle theory would hold alot more weight. But he wasnt.

Yeah, but at least Pryor was willing to move up and face Leonard.

Would Tszyu ever have considered moving up and fighting DLH, Quartey, or Tito?

Says who? Pryor himself? He was all talk on Leonard. Tszyu wasnt going to go after those guys, but Pryor proved to be no more serious about Leonard in the end.

Pryor could have had the fight, though. He just wanted more money.

Turned out to be a good business move I guess, but it doesn't help your "he's avoiding me" claim when you turn down a career high purse to fight the megastar.

If he was offered more, or if DLH offered Tszyu a nice 6 figure sum, I'm pretty sure those fights would've happened.

I cant see the video so youll have to fill me in on whether youre genuine or sarcastic.

Pryor was full of it thouggg. He even tries to intimate Leonard was scared of him.

Yes, Im scared of Aaron Pryor...so Ill fight Duran, Hearns and Hagler instead

I'm not saying I buy that Leonard was sacred.

And for the record..... Ray would have fucked Pryor up.

 Sorry mate. Nothing very relevant, just a video of the amateur fight between Pryor and Hearns which I was watching at the time. Back when amateur boxing was worthy of it's association with the actual noble art.

My own personal feeling is that Aaron Pryor was a genuine badass who could have really proved it if he hadn't had such a fucked up personal life... I know, outside of Alexis, that the real big names aren't there ... Cervantes wasn't shot at all, but he WAS older, it was a matter of time before he got taken out, though that is still an impressive win in its own right... Despite the brief period of dominance followed by a rapid descent into crack addiction, there is enough to see of Pryor to convince me, at least, that he was absolutely the real deal... He's the most unusual offensive fighter I have ever seen... He threw six-punch combinations, and not the Mel Taylor shoeshine variety or the Ray Leonard "just for show, for entertainment" variety... they were real, fully committed, flowing combos... jab head/right head/hook body/hook head/right uppercut/hook body... I've never seen anyone else able to do that, and certainly not with success... He'd throw those and LAND 'em
