Props to Outlander, REED, AG, and anyone who picked Kirkland. It goes to show 2 things. 1) Never bank on someone as average as Angulo beating anyone. 2) Never judge a fighter too much from just ONE fight. I admit the main reason I gave Kirkland no chance was the Ishida fight. I guarantee Angulo probably thought the same way as most of us too, and thought Kirkland was an easy KO, didn't look well trained to me. Props to Kirkland for rebounding from the Ishida massacre in a big way.
And while the first round was a great round, If Kellerman called it the best round ever, he's a fucking moron
kirkland is still shit and would get fucked up by martinez. Hell, i'd even pick macklin to beat his ass
Very fun fight to watch, neither guy is particularly special, but they make for great dance partners.
Lampley looked really bad tonight; like he had aged 10-15 years over the span of a few months. He almost looks to be using something. Kellerman looks off too. He always looks like he's either in the midst of a Herp outbreak or about to have one.
Agreed with the first part, I was just thinking it when he was talking with RJJ. Kellerman is a good looking guy though.
Kirkland deserves props. I gave him no chance, though I didn't bank on Angulo punching himself out in LESS THAN A ROUND... That said, Kirkland still looks vulnerable to me. And not even because he went down from that first right hand against a big puncher. But because he continually leaves himself wide open for perfect counters... Lara would destroy him IMO. Anybody with craft would have finished Kirkland in that round.
Yeah, tonight he looked like he was fighting in slow motion :: You have to hand it to Kirkland, he makes for entertaining fights. Absurdly aggressive.
Angulo actually took a horrific beating. Not many fighters are the same after something like that. I hope he can recover and move on with his career.
Kirkland is not a good fighter The guy he beat tonight was not a good fighter Kirkland will absolutely be hammered to defeat again within the next few fights he has, as long as the comp gets stiffer Let's not all get crazy because he pulled an upset over a guy who nobody was saying was any good to begin with and who looked as if he'd just finished a marathon at the start of the second round I have never seen a guy under 220 pounds throw slower shots than the ones Angulo was throwing tonight, that has a lot to do with Kirkland's success... His defense, which is terrible, was not really tested.... Angulo was moving SO slowly that even Kirkland was able to block his shots in time A guy with even normal handspeed can and will get to the target against Kirkland and WILL knock him out
