Let's say the WBC forces Canelo to fight Kirkland and he agrees. Who wins?

Like I said in the other thread. Kirkland needs to work on not getting caught cold and he should be OK.

    Pressure bursts pipe....Kirkland by TKO

Canelo is GARBAGE, protected garbage, but I'd still favor him to knock out Kirkland

Actually, on second thought..... the Ginger likely would stop Kirkland. James would be live as hell though.

I think Alvarez would take him out late.

It would be entertaining, thats for sure.

Yeah, but theres still a question of Ginger's chin. I'll say that Kirkland hits harder than I gave him credit for.

Ginger should be favored because he's more talented, and has the handspeed and power to take Kirkland out. But really, James could very well overwhelm Ginger too.

Hopefully Kermit the fraud nails Ginger good, so we can get a better indication of his chin.

It would have to be early...He'll be too beat up to the body late to take him out IMO.

It's weak...he did the dance against Cotto. If Kermit connects hard its lights out.

I can't envisage the ginge allowing kirkland to overwhelm him. I think he'd fuck kirkland up personally and rather easily.

Cintron has looked pretty washed up in his two fights.

I suspect that once he feels Ginger's power, he'll look for a way out.

HOPEFULLY though, Cintron can test him.

What Kirkland lack in skill he makes up for in everything else and that can override skill alone

Well I'll say this, if the Ginger allows Kirkland to beat his body up the way he has been allowing some recent opponents, then that won't be good for him against Kirkland.

He'd have to fight tall and keep the jab pumping out there.

Yeah that's the whole idea with pressure. For instance of course Lara is the classier boxer but when Kirkland starts throwing those shots and is in his face round after round he could it stops being about who the better fighter is but who has the more dog in them. That's what Kirklands game is and everyone knows that. So when guys start preaching about his lack of "ability" its funny to me. He wins by taking your heart not by touching you with the jab and pivoting

The thing is, he did it against a guy who clearly punched himself out but prior to that, had him ready to go.

A guy like Lara wouldn't do that. He would calmly take his time, and just pick Kirkland off at the pass with those counter punches and he'd finish him off methodically.

Which is what happened to him against Ishida. He fought a guy who had a bit skill and he coulnd't adjust to the precise counter punches and thus he was dropped 3 times and stopped.

But against fighters that are not that skilled and fight just going forward, Kirkland will always have good chances to win.

At the end of the day..... "skills pays the bills" in this sport. Its not a Rocky movie. Kirkland just happened to be in tonight with a guy equally skilless as himself, and much slower.

Lara would counter the living shit outta Kirkland.

Applying pressure and breaking fighters down is a skill.

BTW. Lara isn't that great himself...I thought he lost that fight on ESPN against Molina. He's a one handed fighter and isn't even a good counter puncher. Sure he looked great against a shot Williams but aside from that nothing.

What's the reason(s) behind Angulo's atrocious physical condition during that fight?

impressive win for kirkland. this victory leads me to believe he didnt train hard for ishida, or was fucking a lot during that camp. i still think lara would whip him but i would take kirkland all day over alvarez. id still pick angulo over alvarez also.
