Looks like this rematch is already good to go. A Devon Alexander, Malignaggi grudge match is being looked at as the co feature.

    What's your prediction here?

I think Berto will win this time. Ortiz fought like an absolute man possesed in the first fight, and I don't think he'll sustain it again.

Berto by UD, or stoppage this time.

BTW - Malignaggi-Alexander might end up being one of the worst fights in history.

Yeah, but you forget that Berto didn't lose because Ortiz fought like a man possessed, Berto lost because he f'in sucks.

Berto can train all he wants but the fact is, training wrong the way he does isn't going to make him suck less and it won't strength his chin either.

Berto, and Ortiz are basically on the same level as fighters. Neither one is very good. In a stronger welterweight era, neither one would be a factor.

Ortiz put his career performance in the first fight. Taking himself to a level he'd never been at before. I just have a hunch thats the only time we'll see THAT Ortiz.

I'm assuming this fight is regular HBO. Because of all the exposure Ortiz got in the Floyd fight, and because of how good the first fight was, I believe this fight will have VERY high ratings. So hopefully they put on another great fight.

Malignaggi-Alexander won't happen. False reporting based largely on interviews from Kevin Cunningham insisting fight is "close to a done deal." Malignaggi is demanding a fight w/ Chino Maidana next and doing everything in his power to force Golden Boy's hand in making that fight.

Also, Berto-Ortiz II not yet a done deal (though reportedly on its way). DiBella wasn't even around this weekend, he was in Canada with Glen Johnson.

Devon Alexander is pretty much finished. The book is out on him, and I'm sick of his Sharapova-grunts in any case. It would be just like him to try and fight Malignaggi in what he thinks is a soft touch. Alexander needs to fuck off and take his Kellerman affectations with him.

Malignaggi vs Chino is a good fight and one Malignaggi thinks he can win, after the Morales debacle. Good on Paulie, he deserves more credit than Devon Alexander. He's fought better comp {Cotto, Hatton, Khan, N'Dou, Juan Diaz X2, J Cotto, N'goudjo etc} than Alexander who LOST to Kotelnik and LOST to Mathysse and QUIT vs Timmy the Head.

As for Berto vs Ortiz.......Berto has obviously come to the same conclusion I did, namely that Ortiz was on gear and that his "functional weight advantage" was chemically enhanced.

All Berto has to do is follow the advice of Doctor Neil Kinsey and lay-off all that Earthquake Pussy for the duration of training camp, and his chin should stiffen up, even if his weener doesn't

Is Brook sexually active at present? I fear for his chin.

    Brook would D-Stroy Alexander.

    Berto via UD this time.

Ortiz is a an okay fighter with some size and power but very weak mentally.

Neither guy is an elite fighter but Berto at his best is better IMO.

I have to say, as exciting as the first fight was, I couldn't care less about either of these guys really. Berto is an absolute fraud. And Ortiz simply doesn't have the mentality of a fighter.

If this were a real sport, neither of these guys would be a major factor by this point.

By the way, is it me, or has DiBella had more than his fair share of dates on HBO in which his fighters were allowed to face nobodies and be built up as super-stars nontheless?

I'm a self proclaimed Berto hater and I'll be pulling for Ortiz.

Ortiz may be a prick, he may have borderline admitted to having a vagina, he may even be on gear. I don't care I just don't want that coward Berto to win a belt and hold it hostage fighting no hopers again.

You've got a point about Ortiz's size-Lampley said he was the biggest welterweight he'd ever seen. :l2:

I completely agree. Ortiz is the archetypal douche, and a quitting douche at that, but in boxing there is nothing worse than the likes of Berto, pathetic, allegedly world class fighters who don't fight anyone.

I'm rooting for Ortiz...My agenda is to make Floyd's win appear better.

(if you're doing the time you may as well do the crime)
