If he weighed 142 for the Floyd fight, I doubt he much extra on post weigh-in. Judging by how his body looked in training vs how it looked at the weigh-in, that won't be the case here. Either way, whether it's muscle or fat, weight is weight; especially when it's primarily on the upper body, and older legs have to carry it. And unless he's got EPO as part of his regimen, it may affect his stamina.

Carrying extra muscular bulk in boxing usually hurts more than it helps, we've seen that borne out countless times.

 

Sure.....like anything over 9" just becomes a curse. This is more more like going from 3.5 to 5" though.

Pac gets a lot of mug money each fight so I expected Marquez to be at long odds, but 25/1 for a decision is borderline crazy.

Saying that Pac probably will win every second of every round, but at those odds I can't resist.

 

I'm not arguing with any of that, but he still looks better at the weight than against Floyd, even if he is still too bulky. At least he'll be stronger. Unless you turn into a body builder, muscle is still better than fat if you are carrying any extra bulk

It might not help him at all Vs Pacquiao, but at the very least it should help his punch resistance somewhat, give him a more solid base to take punches, and match Pacquiao in physical strength.

Like I said in my initial post you quoted when you started your angry little muslim routine, I'm not even sure it was a good idea, if anything he should have worked on being significantly faster than Manny's recent opponents, seeing as Pacquiao has got used to having a field day on much slower fighters.
