  6. no.

But Marquez beats both Cotto and Margarito (probably stops fragile Cotto) and Ortiz stops Cotto and decisions Margarito.

Floyd's children (Marquez and Ortiz) would make their father proud.

Cotto would fuck Marquez up. Miggy does really well against technical boxers, its pressure he cant handle.

And Phony is simply too big for Marquez. Marquez doesnt have the speed, and firepower that Pac has to keep Phony off.

    Dumbass thread.

Yep, but tbh I think even Sly doesn't believe it. It's just another one of his silly Floyd threads.

Wow. Sly overrating Marquez and Ortiz as part of his Mayweather agenda. What were the odds on that happening??

  17. Sadly, most of you here don't understand the game. Either that or you are clouded by personal feelings etc. Some are very knowledgeable on the history of the game but that doesn't necessarily translate to practical knowledge of the game.

Ortiz lost to Maidana, quit in fact, and so people haven't forgiven him for that. But this dude also beat an unbeaten berto in a higher division SINCE then. He has developed as a fighter physically and mentally. Sure..he got beat up by Mayweather.....but this is MAYWEATHER that we're talking about. Floyd is one of the best to have ever laced up the gloves...no shame in losing to him.

Ortiz showed against Berto (and against Floyd), power, stamina, strength. Ortiz would stop Cotto. I have no doubt. Margarito could conceivably wear him down...but I see Ortiz outworking him.

As for Marquez. He beats Cotto left right and Centre. Outboxes him, outguns him , outlasts him. Cotto CANNOT beat Marquez. No sir. Just think about it? Consider the styles the strengths and weaknesses? Think about it. Margarito is much bigger than Marquez but it wouldn't matter. Marquez would counter him to death.

I'm disappointed with the knowledge on this site. People seem to neglect logic in favour of emotions and other silly non-factors.

Mad respect to Jake, Steve Dave, Muzse, Lok and a few others though....because they've demonstrated an understanding of the game.

Reading Sly's posts, it seems Marquez wasn't fighting for his own legacy but Floyd's legacy.

Marquez didn't win the fight on saturday night but Floyd won. I think he can retire now, he has Pacquiao on his virtual resume by way of "Having a close fight against an opponent Floyd beat easily".

  19. Please.......

Floyd MUST fight Pacquiao or I would be among his foremost critics. No excuses for Floyd to not fight this man.

Ortiz beat Berto in a tough-man contest. He looked like shit against PBF, and was easily dismantled by Maidana.

I suppose it's possible he could beat Margarito or Cotto, but I think you'd have to feel pretty unconfined by common sense and the facts of the matter to draw a conclusion like this.

  21. Correction: Floyd made him look like shit.

Corrales looked like a king against Castillo in the first fight and against the then undefeated Frietas. Floyd made him look like an amateur.

Floyd is that good...it's not that his opponents are bad.

You're an idiot Sly. Don't even talk about logic dude, unless you actually plan on using some. :bangh:

I might be inclined to believe you except that Ortiz looked like shit against Peterson too. Looked like shit against Berto. And obviously looked like shit against Maidana.

FWIW, I'd not argue too vociferously against JMM being better than both Cotto and the cheat. P4P he definitely is, at 140 he would have probably taken Cotto's head off and it is possible that he counters cheato to death. Ortiz, on the other hand, is poo. Pure poo. A prime Cotto beats him handily and cheato would have pummeled him into another quit job.

    Ortiz indeed...

That Ortiz, a pussified, weak-willed scrub, would beat Cotto or Margarito is absurd.

Cotto would dissect him. And Marg, even without the wraps, would pummel him.

Ortiz wasn't "easily dismantled" by Maidana, he was kicking the shit out of him for 5 rounds or whatever it was.

I disagree with the premise of the thread, though. Both would probably lose to both.

How will Ortiz stop Cotto? So he showed power, stamina, and strength? Cotto has all 3 of those things, and has a much larger supply of them.

    Ortiz OUTWORK Margarito?? :atu:

Marquez will be fighting Cotto and Margarito @147, NOT Baby Bull Diaz or Katsidis...Marquez will be outgun by both fighters..and will get KO'ed..

A day or two from now you can say...."hahaha I was just pulling your guys chain"...
