Yeah, Pac is the same guy who fought Margarito and Mosley. No matter how prime he is he always has trouble with a guy like Marquez. If Pac had Hatton or Cotto in the ring last night he would have got them out of there in style again. Of course he's going to look slower against Marquez who takes away your offense and throws beautiful combinations.

But he didn't look slower against Marquez in fights 2 and 3, that's the point

Fuck, he beat Mosley with ease, 12-0, but he still looked slower than usual there.

Take Marquez out of the equation completely, let's say Marquez would trouble Pacquiao JUST AS MUCH if Pacquiao hadn't slowed, regardless, he's still slowed down a fair bit.

Maybe its just having to chase his man thats made him look a bit slower.

But Mayweather didn't fought the two most important...the two he avoided when all of them were in their prime.....Cotto and Margarito...

I never, ever said that. I think some of you are misinterpreting things in a big way.

The "Pac has slowed down" thing is an aside.

To be honest, even if Pacquiao still had prime speed he'll struggle with Marquez as evidenced in fights 2 and 3. It might have made no difference.

This is just an observation, one that was evident against Mosley too, and one you'd have to be blind not to notice.

The only thing I think did make a difference is Pacquiao has lost a bit of his killer instinct, which again was evident against Shane.

On saturday he took no risks to really try and win, Manny used to be more fearless.

I think so...It seems to me Marquez was more defensive than in the first two fights.

No it's the raw velocity of his shots. Slice noticed it too. Even when completely in range, throwing a comfortable left cross, it's lost some zip for sure. It's always been his fastest punch by far, but now it's speed is nothing special. His feet are slower too, he's way more flatfooted, less zippy lateral movement.

Hut Hut is someone who's opinion I trust, after you watch the fight Hut, tell me what you think of Manny's raw hand and footspeed compared to say, the Hatton or Cotto fights.

I'm not sure why anyone is arguing, it's weird.

Floyd has slowed down by the same amount. Manny is almost 33, and Floyd is 34 - it's to be expected.

How can you say he avoided Cotto? Do not be disingenuous he tried to make that fight years ago but Arum wouldn't hear of it and Cotto didn't want it either claiming he needed more seasoning. Later on Floyd ducked Margarito sure but it had more to do with him hating Arum...Look at your list, which 2 fighters work for Arum? Which two fighters didn't Floyd fight? Floyd wasn't scared of either of those dudes man he's just hates Arum and their both egomaniac jerks who won't back down.

Cotto NEVER made the Mayweather camp an offer to fight and NEVER said he wanted Floyd...When Floyd was fighting Hatton, Cotto was fighting Alfonso Gomez. Please stop Cotto never wanted a piece of Floyd his promoter even less.

Yup...of course he wanted to fight the weaken Cotto at 140.

Yet a year or 16 months the 147 pound Cotto first needed to leave his promoter, prove himself a ppv draw, build up his fanbase and a thousand other request before he could share a ring with the great Floyd Mayweather...

Im sure Ortiz never made the mayweather camp and offer either. Doesnt mean anything. Cotto has a belt and Mayweather stopped mentioning his name at 147. He ducked cotto, Williams & Margarito at 147. It's ok to admit it.

Also, Cotto said that another of the boxers that could lead to 'another level', is Floyd Mayweather, Jr., but has always avoided fighting Cotto

"With Mayweather Jr. has always been an attractive fight. We can not fight with someone who does not want to fight us. He does not want to fight. The excuse given is that we are not 'pay-per-view attraction' and he is, "he knows we are a PPV atraction, Cotto explained.

Cotto is differs from 'Money Mayweather' and stressed that the demonstration of courage that he made against Clottey on Saturday, may have increased his value in the Anglo-Saxon market.

"I understand that the value of Miguel Cotto has always been there. Let's see (how the increased value of their shares) when negotiations begin. I will fight, Im prepare for it and the public knows, "he said.

"I understand that the public will take this point into consideration. But Mayweather Jr. is not the main boxer we have in mind, we are working with others name too. "

If that name is finally Pacquiao, Cotto will make sure not to commit the same error committed by Oscar de la Hoya.

"We will work in reality what we do and we are not going to sacrifice so that he can take advantage of it. We are not going to sacrifice and leave everything in the training so that he takes advantage, "said the champion, who plans to take a vacation with his family outside of Puerto Rico prior to start thinking again in boxing.

I don't think either Mayweather or Cotto cared much to face each other, when the fight would've been best, in 2008.

Mayweather looked to rematch DLH, "retired", and then fought Marquez. From 2008-09, Cotto fought Margarito, Clottey, and Pacquiao.

Cotto gets more of a pass. At least he gave us other good matchups in lieu of Mayweather.

that's after he WANTED the fight at welterweight and didn't get it so he said fuck it, left Arum and fought Dela Hoya for 50 MILLION DOLLARS...do you even follow boxing?

How do you duck someone when you ASK for the fight and don't get it? Arum DUCKED Mayweather on behalf of Cotto...deal with it

It's quite simple. Mayweather ducked Cotto at Welterweight. I know it's hard for you to understand it, but it happened. Just like margarito and williams and pac. The man doesnt want a tough fight.

oh I get it he asked for the fight at welterweight was told no then he ducked him. I know facts are things most people don't like to deal with in life but they have a way of not going away.

Floyd asked for the fight FACT
Cotto never asked for the fight FACT

    Sorry
