At his absolute best/on a flawless night, Vargas survives a scare or two in taking a convincing decision. Any other version gets stopped at some point, most likely late in the fight. Vasquez doesn't win very many rounds against either version.
yup Vazquez was strong, durable and he could punch... but he was also a slow starter and a guy who really needed time to get his shots in
vasquez enhanced whitaker's legacy, but he's still overrated based on his narrow win over a young winky. vargas wins on points probably.
