Duran, Duran, Duran, Duran "Duran would win... but he would be forced to win a VERY CLOSE DECISION!!!!" --Sly
Actually Duran would win a fairly clear decision methinks....when I consider the styles and abilities. Duran doesn't stop him though.
Yup Castillo will suddenly become vulnerable the moment he sees the ring girl holding up "round 13". Modern fighters could have never lasted 15 rounds.
I've consistently said the opposite. It's because Duran would be wearing him down since Castillo would be right there for him & because Duran had 6 stoppage wins as lightweight champ between rounds 12-15.
Duran TKO 11 He might be the smaller guy but he's faster, more skilled, and much smarter. Castillo would be competitive early but thats about it.
Duran was NOT a smaller guy than Castillo. Quite the opposite. Unless you mean the 21 yr old kid that beat Buchanan. He was just a skinny runt then. As he reached his mid-to-late 20's, he grew into a HUGE lightweight. Give Duran a 24 hr weigh in, and he'd gain JUST as much weight as Castillo. Wouldnt matter though. Weight aside, Duran was freakishly physically STRONG. Much more so than Castillo. He'd bully Castillo around the ring, regardless of any edge in fight-night weight Castillo might have.
I agree, although he was undersized at 147, he was a BIG lightweight towards the end of his reign. Only 5'7 but beefy, and strong as fuck. He would push Castillo around the ring with surprising ease. It was the DeJesus's and the Viruets of the world that troubled Duran, any aggressive fighter is fucked against Duran unless they're twice his size. Prime Castillo, such as the one that beat Floyd, was a very good fighter. I think he'd give a good account of himself but get stopped for sure.
Fightbeat should fund a reality TV pilot where Sly & BWJ are handcuffed together on a desert island and have to solve 5 crystal maze style puzzles to win their passage home.
Poor Stafford, reduced to middle school insults to hide his lack of anything resembling substance in his ad copy...no, wait...posts.
Ummm...no. But it's not like that will stop you from saying it as a way of trying to take the attention of your latest no-substance diatribe. Poor stafford...can't prove his point so he is reduced to schoolyard insults and lies.
