Anybody giving Manfredo jr a real chance here of winning?

From what i've seen of both, it should be a competitive, tough fight.

Chavez will win a decision or the ref will stop it on some Chavez flurry late in the fight. Manfredo has no weapons.

Can anyone remind me how Manfredo has looked, having moved down to 154? I remember seeing him at 168 where he was actually an opponent for Calzaghe (shame on him), and he seemed absolutely bloated and under-sized at that weight. I remember saying to myself he might actually be effective if he moved down in weight.

I'm fairly sure he's been at 154 (and 160) a while now, but I can't remember if he's had success or not.

He does have some ability to counter-punch though - I know that. And against Chavez who likes to really pour it on, that can be a valuable weapon.

I think Manfredo jr is of good sort and can make a good fight of it, but I can see Chavez jr being too sharp and accurate. I have hardly seem either, tbh, but the impression I get is that Manfredo jr is getting stopped in this one by a better, technical fighter.

I'd like to see Manfredo win (he won't). Would be good for the guy. It's strange to think he's only 30 and has been around for awhile. I'd like to see him win then get a decent payday.

I forget which fight is was but he was profiled and it showed him working pretty much as a janitor in the arena he fought in as the headliner a few years prior. Shows how little these guys make.

Chavez jr...a loss wouldn't kill him...he'll still have a fanbase and Arum can still make money on the guy. Chavez has had a charmed life and career...I want the little guy to prevail.

When are they going to stop feeding bums to Chavez Jr? He must be one of the most protected fighters in history.

Manfredo is at least on Chavez' level tecnically and is probably the bigger man. I can't believe some of the predictions, feelings mentioned in this thread. The only way CHavez wins this is by close/controversial decision. If he has a bad day, Manfredo might school him.

Chavez is a bum himself, he can be happy if he beats Manfredo. Manfredo handled Vanda with EASE!

He's definitely had an easy time when it comes to his boxing career. But to be fair, growing up with Chavez Sr. as his dad couldn't have been easy. I'm sure the guy was a drunken asshole.

I would love if the Numbers Runner beat the shit out of this fraud but it won't happen.

Not sure whether manfredo jr has enough oomph to discourage chavez jr.

Manfredo belongs at 154...he is not a Super Middle.

Yep, I was going to mention this. He has an easier time with Vanda than Jr did, and he didn't have to fight him twice to beat him clearly.

    WAR MANFREDO!!!

I saw an interview with Manfredo Jr. recentley where he says that if he losses this fight he'll retire. He is just trying to pay off his house.

I really hope he wins. I cannot stand Chavez jr. I can't believe Roach is training that clown.

Jr. by decision. I've been following Manfredo for almost ten years from his days in the Dunkin Donut Center in Providence where I saw him make a restart of his career live.. He is built like a winner but he could never pull the trigger and let his hands go..Jr. has no pop but can box and lets his hands go, so a decison for him it is....GS
