Paul is a bit of a forgotten guy but he had a real nice run there as a champ and beat the shit out of a good fighter in Harry Arroyo to win the belt... He had a sloppier, less defensively sharp version of that classic backfoot, straight-up stance, a la Zora Folley, Freddie Little ... though obviously nowhere near as slick as those two guys... Rog was obviously a lot faster on his feet and he still had the same attributes that made him a good junior lightweight... speed, skills and a booming right hand... on the downside, Rog still had the same fatal flaw: the chin of a cheerleader and Jimmy Paul could absolutely punch hard, especially with the right hand... I think Roger could wreak havoc on Jimmy Paul for several rounds, outmaneuver him, refuse to let him find his rhythm, and hurt him with those big rights... but no matter how I imagine this fight in my head, it is bound to end in Jimmy Paul's favor... at some point he lands a vicious right hand and turns the whole thing around... Uncle Roger is getting counted out eventually no matter how far ahead he is on the cards... PAUL KO7
Wow, Jimmy Paul gets some love. Great call and good fight. Roger has a shot with his power but I think Paul is just a bit too sturdy for him at 135. It would be give and take but I see Paul landing one of those sneaky right hands and turning the fight around.
I'd take Paul by KO. I love watching Paul's masterclass ass whuppin of Harry Arroyo. He also put a master class ass whuppin on Robin Blake. He's DEFINITELY far too overlooked as a fighter.
That Blake fight is BRUTAL... he shook him, it seemed like, several times per round... guy took a beating from hell
