I must admit, I'm somewhat excited about this matchup. Shitron at least presents a bigger challenge than Gomez, Hatton, and Rhodes.

In this matchup, either the Ginger will get exposed, or Froggy will get another ass whuppin.

Either scenario sounds good to me.

You know, Im actually getting the vibes that Cintron could possibly outbox the Ginger like he did Angulo. I really wouldnt rule that out. Though Cintron looked absolutely SHOT last time he fought.

Im looking forward to this one too.

While it REMAINS to Be Seen if Canelo Alvarez is "Better" than Alfredo Angulo, he's ALREADY Shown REED that he's More Varied than "El Perro", STYLISTICALLY...This is Cintron's "Last Hurrah", in Terms of WORLD CLASS Relevance, so he'll Definitely Come to WIN, but REED Doesn't Think it'll Be Enough...

Canelo by 9th-10th Round TKO or UD...

    REED:cheer:

Ginger is certainly quicker handed than Angulo.

Perro makes the 90's Foreman look like Howard Davis.

  5. Barristan

its hard to predict a Froggy fight because he's such a headcase. Freckles has a weak chin and he'll probably go down in this fight but he should be able to continue and win a decision because Froggy is a coward and will get hurt to the body and not do anything for the last 5 - 6 rounds.

Cintron was cowardly garbage during his "prime"... I think this is good matchmaking, good managing by Canelo's people... He's carefully protected and this is simply a matter of a name guy to beat up on

The Man Who Should Be Called Proinsias O'Sullivan will win this by TKO in about 6 rounds

Cintron looked shot in his previous fight, as low an opinion as I have of Ginger, he'll be able to beat this version of Cintron no problem.

As much as I wish Cintron could put in just one more decent performance and manage to beat Canelo, I predict he will lose.

As others have said, he seemed well-done in his last fight, with very little on his shots, but more importantly, his timing and hand-speed all but gone.

It's difficult to imagine his dealing with Canelo once Freckles decides to pour it on.

Cintron's in this new phase in his career where he likes to stand there and poke around with his left-hand like it's a periscope or something. And it has no power.

I don't know why, but I've been leaning towards Cintron all along. Just seems like a fight date canelo's team was pushing to hard to secure (he wanted to fight four times this year, so they settled for thanksgiving weekend) and desperate to improve on uneven performance from Gomez fight.

Kermit's biggest problem exists between the ears. Everything else is there - has the tools and damn sure has the range. In Ronnie Shields, he also has the right trainer for his personality and temperament (can push him w/o bullying him, can nurture w/o being soft on him).

For whatever flaws he has, he's still better than anyone Canelo has faced to date. To his credit, Canelo himself admits this.

Something tells me we see the second significant upset in Mexico this month.

So I'm guessing you're picking Kermy by stoppage?

Cause we all know damn well he isnt getting a decision.

I know, I thought about that. But I can see him winning a split decision if the fight plays out like I think Kermit is capable of doing - assuming he stays in the ring long enough to see all 12 rounds.

If Kermy could be as sharp as he was in the Angulo fight, I'd like his chances.

But it appears he's PHYSICALLY declined since that fight.

    Cintron isnt a spring chicken.

I agree... I'm just not a believer in Alvarez. I'll give him credit if he knocks out or dominates Cintron.

  22. Xplosive

    Xplosive X-MOD Bad Motherfucker

I have a hunch he'll do both. BUT, if he loses to a faded Kermy, it officially means he's all hype.

I'm often harsh on Ginger, but he's not THAT bad. He has good power, and above average offensive skills.

I just wouldnt pick him over Lara. Not that Lara is the second coming of Whitaker, but he has the wrong style for the Ginger.

I'm kinda hoping Canelo DOES win. Only because I'm wishfully thinking that Alvarez-Kirkland can get made.

Yeah, I don't dislike Alvarez at all. He's generally fun to watch. Some say he has a prima donna complex but it's boxing - who doesn't.

There's fair criticism in that Molina or Lara should be getting these opportunities instead (especially since Molina beat Kermit), but this is a respectable test for Alvarez.

Alvarez will impress ya'll this weekend.

Alright only a few hours away from this fight. I must admit, I'm pretty excited. The more I think about it, the better chance I give Kermit the frog of pulling an upset tonight. Just a hunch.

Overall, it has the potential to be a good shoot out. Both can punch, and neither one has the best of chins.

I'm still picking Freckles by stoppage, but if Froggy stopped Alvarez it would be LESS surprising than Kirkland stopping Angulo was.

  26. puerto rock

puerto rock WBC Silver Diamond Emeritus Champ

That is true. Kerm looked SHOT in his last fight.

Now its definitely possible that his long layoff played a part. But he is not a young man anymore.

That said, Kermit is a strange case. He's clearly mentally weak, yet he does have some decent skills to go with his athleticism. And he does have the tools to give Canelo some headaches.

    I'm looking forward to this.

Canelo blows, but Froggy is the weakest fighter mentally I have ever seen at any level. The guy has the temperament of an accountant.

Cintron looked like completed shit vs. Molina the last time I saw him....freckles should beat him easily.

Every now and then Cintron pulls a surprising performance out of his ass...outboxing Angulo and winning more than a few rounds vs. Martinez, even though he was counted out...but still got a draw..:34:

I have this fight live and for free. I might do RBR if nobody else does.
