Got to say I've been following Miguel from the start and he has really made a strong attempt to speak English, and he has succeeded. He speaks slowly partly because he is determined to articulate correctly. Cheato was born in Cali and although he moved to the TJ area soon after that has made no attempt to speak his native language. Got to really appreciate that aspect of Miguel. Lot of native born second and third generation Mex Americans and Puerto Ricans speak little and in some cases no Spanish. Miguel repects all his fans...Crazy about Miguel...GS

 

If the PAC fight doesn't come off I would love to see Mayweather fight the winner.

Either fight would be a systematic sadistic beatdown.

 

By that point, those guys will be beaten down enough that PBF would probably pull the trigger. The thing is, they're promoted by the wrong guy. It's always possible either of their contracts with TR will expire soon though.

If Ortiz hadn't been the biggest welterweight Lampley's ever seen, I might be inclined to claim that PBF prefers not to fight guys bigger than him, and that when he does, his performances are uninspired and safety first.

I just think the guy is an innate cheat. Everything about him suggests a leering, sneering, cheat. Okay, thats not objective, I admit, but it's just a feeling I have about the guy. Maybe he had money issues and couldn't afford to lose, or maybe the Mosley thing was really a one-off, one-off. I don't know, but my gut tells me the man is no fucking good.

 

I thought last night's episode was the best in the history of 24/7. Amazing what a difference it makes when you bring in new material.

The stuff with Cotto's dad (and mother's interview) was extremely touching.

Margarito is obviously the bad guy here...I don't buy his nor the former trainers explanation of the handwraps. It's fairly clear (to me) what happened.

I have a feeling Margarito will stop him again. This was a good episode but at the end of the day is about how much can Cotto hurt Margarito and you know Margarito will keep coming untl the final bell.

Hell Cotto already said boxing is just a job and he won't die in the ring not even for the fans. Which makes sense for a fighter at the stage of his carreer.

But against Margarito you have to be a little nasty. You can't just outbox him for 12 rounds thinking you won't get touched.

Even with the weight you can tell Cotto is nervous. He is a 154 champion for god's sake and he tried to negotiate to 150 for this fight.
