Wrong yet again, dumbbell. Even though it's the truth...I didn't say it.

What's awesomely funny is that Stafford claims to have me on ignore, yet still takes shots at me. Sounds like a hypocrite and a coward to me.

I don;t class Hopkins as one either

    He's better than Calzaghe, though

I was a Hopkins fan during his younger days, but he's become the most overrated middleweight of all time... was he good enough to trouble anybody? certainly, is he top ten? absolutely... he had 20 title defenses even if 10 of them were tomato cans... so, yes he was top notch... but his quality of opposition was downright hideous with maybe 3 exceptions and he was not always dominant even against some really awful guys ... that has to count against him, the same way I count against Calzaghe

Make no mistake, I class Bernard as the better of the two, but this isn't Calzaghe vs. Ezzard Charles being discussed here either, not by a long shot

I think as time goes on, Hopkins stock will lower to a more realistic level

I agree Hopkins is over-rated as a MW. He'd be in my top-10 or 12 all-time, which is no mean feat, but to see him in the top 3-5 as I often do...

Yep no hurting his opponents in any way! Viva leap-slap amateurism.

Mays well just go the whole hog and wear 20 ounce comedy mits and fight with reinforced fencing head protectors.

There's allot more dignity in smart offensive cheating than there is in touch-score slapathon victories. Punctuated with the occasional premature stoppage win via slap avalanche bemusement. Certainly more dignity for the sport.

Calzaghe is Copernicus. Calzaghe is van Gogh. Calzaghe is Goethe. Calzaghe is Ali. Calzaghe is a genius who renewed the game and showed us the way to tomorrow, but the masses will recognize his greatness only after he is gone. What a tragedy, and what a man!

There's no dignity in cheating. It means you can't win clean. Fuck Hopkins.

Nah, successful offensive cheating just shows you CAN and get away with it. Most fighters don't have the nous or awareness to (seriously).

Yeah coast through 9 years of a title reign avoiding any real challenges then beat two superior contemporaries once they're in their 40s. Then retire undefeated.

A visionary strategy which future generations will definitely take note of.

Nonsense. Cheating is cheating, and it's something you resort to when you're out of legal ideas.

Simply not true. It's something certain fighters do consistently and preemtively. If they're crafty enough to get away with it. Guys like Pedroza, Saddler, Charles, Duran & Hopkins aren't going in with flying Victor Ortiz headbuts, they're just bagining hips and kidneys, thumbing on the refs blind side, following through with sneaky little elbows - breaking a guy down. No desperation involved, they do it when they're 10-0 rounds up, when the fights even, whenever. Just a requisite awareness of their surroundings and presence of mind.

I have more respect for guys who can win fights without having to resort to underhand tactics. Cheating is cheating and it's never cool.

As far as my respect for boxers I have respect for those who can hurt their opponent and not get hurt. And do it with composure. That's the M.O. of the noble art. The martial foundation of the sport.

Pity-pat-slappy-leap-amatuers and escapologists get no respect from me.

Maybe they're nicer people (maybe not) but as boxers they're a fucking corrosive barnacle on the hull, the lot of them.

Old-Hopkins is more of an escapologist than offensive cheater by the way. He sucks too.

Hopkins was faking like a bitch trying to get Joe DQ'ed or have points deducted. So he was obviously getting hurt in there as he didn't want to fight anymore. Nothing cool about that.
