    nah, from what I heard, it was a plaster of paris like substance, not cement. To be honest, while it must have given him an advantage, I don't see it as something that would make or break a figter as most of you imply

    Cotto is fragile. :lol:

    Even though Margarito is slow as molasses (he's heavyweight division slow) he should still put too much pressure on gentle little Miguel and I as such expect Cotto to wilt before the final bell.

    That was the phrase being used at the time regarding Tito.

    Apparently it was a tape and gauze that was wet and compacted, resulting in a "plaster of paris like substance".

    That was what was reported at the time.

    Wouldn't surprise me. Cotto's problem is his reluctance to clinch and to accept/correct his defensive shortcomings. Margarito's stamina will be there on saturday night, but I think after two brutal beatings, his chin will not be the same.

    Cotto needs to to sit down on his punches and hit Margarito with everything he's got in the opening round. He must get his respect early. I cant see how Margarito can be the same after that vicious beating from Pac.

    Terrible strategy. Throwing hard shots against Margarito doesn't get his respect. He'll still keep coming forward no matter how hard he gets hit. Cotto would just blow his load early. He needs to be prepared to go the distance and survive rough patches of his own.

    No he didnt. He had an extra layer of Gauze on his knuckle. He has also wrapped it the same way every fight after. Tito's way of wrapping doesnt add power, it protects the fighters hands. In fact, didnt the guy who wrapped tito's gloves get an award for his style of hand wrapping?

    Bullshit. if that was the case, Tito's license would have been gone just like Margarito. From Richardson himself:

    The Ring: How was Trinidad different than Margarito?

    NR: Trinidad was an abrasion against the rules. Margarito downright had a weapon. There is a difference when you say you're playing chess and have your men lined up differently, as opposed to having extra men on the board. Margarito tried to bring extra men. He had a knuckle pad. Margarito had a strip over the back of his hand, around his thumb and wrist. They told me it was because of a previous injury was why they wrapped it that way. One look and you could tell it wasn't right.

    I'll say close decision. Cotto gets the nod, but Margarito will probably deserve it. Payback from the judges.

Since fisher Jr is saying something completely different than the man there to evaluate the gloves, I doubt he also was in the room. I will go with Naazim. Anyone that believes Fisher, Jr’s story is a fucking idiot, especially since tito was never suspended or in trouble.     NR: When I came into the room, I think it was his left hand that was already wrapped. I asked for the bylaws about hand wraps before the fight. I didn't see the hand get wrapped. Someone from <st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Hopkins</st1:place></st1:City>' camp had to be there to witness the hands being wrapped. I spoke to a commissioner about it. he said that he was there to watch his hand get wrapped. Then I asked him, "Do you work for the <st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Hopkins</st1:place></st1:City> camp??" I think I asked him twice. He said, no, so I told the commissioner I wanted to see <st1:place w:st="on">Trinidad</st1:place> get his hands wrapped again - both of them.
