For those that haven't watch TUF this season, I think there are 2 guys that will emerge from the finale that will end up being 2 of the best ever to win the show. TJ Dilashaw and Diego Brandao fight in separate finale bouts at 135 and 145 pounds respectively. Both guys look ready for the UFC in a big way. Diego hasn't been beyond one round in any of his 4 TUF fights. He is a very strong 145 pounder with legitimate "hurt you" power in both hands. Dilashaw is a seasoned wrestler produced by Team Alpha Male with solid all around skills. He is undefeated in his pro career and looks like a guy that could easily compete in the UFC's stacked 135 pound division. This is really a cool little card capped off by Bisping-Miller in the Main Event. Main card (SPIKE TV) Middleweight bout: Michael Bisping vs. Jason Miller Featherweight TUF Finale: Dennis Bermudez vs. Diego Brandao Bantamweight TUF Finale: T.J. At first I thought that TJ guy was going to be a bit crap, but the guy seems fucking legit. I'll be shocked if he doesn't batter the hideous little Monkey. I thought Lanky Johnny would beat the Monkey, but he got KO'd. Diego looks OK but I'm not sold on him tbh. He's powerful, but fairly wild and sloppy, who knows how good his endurance and stamina are too. I give Paternity Boy Dennis a pretty good shot of beating him. I was pretty surprised to find out Diego's record is like 13/7. He's lost a third of his fights. Not really a great record unless they were early losses and he's improved a lot.
I think he's a borderline top 15 guy. But he's never really beaten anyone of significance. The sad thing is that he doesn't have one single skill that would ever remotely trouble Anderson Silva. That's got to be depressing.
Even if you make Diego 16-7 now, that record still means he is nothing to get excited over. Although I agree he's looked good, it's probably just reflective of his competition in TUF and the typical UFC hype job marketing. Despite Dana and his brother Trplsec bragging up this season, I don't think the talent is overly impressive, but it has been a very good season to watch. I'm looking forward to the finale more than a lot of the ppv and vs cards that we discuss often. Bisping looked absolutely huge in this last episode compared to Miller. I expect him to have a bitch of a time making weight.
Well, I can't speak for my brother Dana, but I'm basing my opinion on some actual facts. First, Diego blitzed right through an experienced Bryan Caraway who has 20 pro MMA bouts including bouts with known guys like Wilson Reis and Mark Hominick. And none of them knocked him senseless like Diego did. Plus Diego demolished a decent fighter in Steven Siler who had to beat a very experienced Micah Miller to earn his way into the house. On top of that, Diego is working with Greg Jackson which absolutely won't hurt. Meanwhile, TJ Dillashaw is an accomplished Division-1 wrestler who came into the show with an undefeated record and a ton of hype. Listening to the way the other Team Alpha Male fighters talk about Dillashaw's work in the gym is relatively impressive. Seriously it's a TV show and a lot of it is hype to gain viewers. You have to be smart enough to know who is who and what their backgrounds are. Or you can just talk out your ass with an opinion developed with zero basis. To me, as someone who's watched every season, the fights have been better. The talent level seems solid. And the front runners seem to be ready for the UFC.
Well they are new in terms of young i mean. But i thought they became the champ. I must have been really tired that day, but i thought he said that.
I think the talent level has been fairly solid actually compared to most seasons. The only guy that stands out to me as being a potential force in the UFC is Dillashaw. But if you think about the recent seasons especially, they were pretty scrubby. A lot of these smaller guys looked more adept than I'm used to seeing in TUF. Regarding Diego, I didn't realise that Caraway guy had 20 fights and has been fighting for 6 years, jesus. How can he still be so nervous and self doubting. Either way, he didn't look upto much really, Caraway. Also looking at Diego's record, I don't recognise one name on there. I have a feeling Diego is a bit of a one trick pony. Powerful and extremely aggressive, but when he fights an opponent who is tough and savvy, I think he'll run out of ideas and steam pretty quickly. BTW I agree, it was more evident than ever in the episode the other day, Bisping looked much bigger than Mayhem. It looked like a 185 pounder Vs a 205er.
Carraway looked like he just burnt himself out with fear in that Diego fight,..just surcumbed to the stress and laid down. I think Bermudez beats Diego easily. Diego tires after 30 seconds.
Absolutely, that's why I was shocked the guy has 20 fights and has been fighting for years. He's still petrified before fights, especially of this Diego guy. He was shitting himself and just didn't really fancy the job. Diego's stamina doesn't seem great, plus I'm not sure his chin is up to much either. It seems half his losses are stoppage/KO. Fuck it, I'm picking Dennis too. I hope Dennis Penis Head Kicks him before choking him out. Dennis can take a whack and recover too, he's tough and has heart.
Any of you Neilgros got a stream for tonight? MMA TV has become shit, it either doesn't work, or starts shortly before the main event.
I thought Yves beat Ferguson. They gave it to Tony, though. http://www.lshunter.tv/other-live-streaming-video.html
Yves won the fight in my opinion. He took rounds 2 and 3. I expected him to not get the decision though. At least the judges could have made it look halfway decent. 2 of the judges had it 30-27.
