I am now fairly moved to accept with near certainty that he likely loaded his gloves for the first fight

Indeed, this fight was a replay of the first encounter, the main difference being that Cotto was never hurt or warn down

I wish Cotto had said...."FUCK HIM"

Without the magic wraps Plasterito is just a big tough scrub, like I said.

Cotto would beat Alvarez by the way, without a shadow of doubt.

    Arum wants Chavez vs Cotto.

Exactly, it couldn't be more obvious at this point.

The fight was EXACTLY the same, literally. Plasterito chasing, and landing a few little inside digs up close.

The difference is those same punches didn't wear Cotto down this time and give him a face full of red welts.

  7. Beyond the Grave

    Beyond the Grave Undisputed Champion

I like the adjustments Cotto made ,everytime they were on the inside Cotto pushed up on Margarito so he wouldn't have room to punch, that was something Cotto never did in the first fight.

Yes but the eye and the Pac fight played a part in that. Of course, there were undeniable parallels. Cotto made him miss all night and when Margarito landed, it failed to raise the same welts and open the same cuts. That's an inescapable reality and it raises only one conclusion- the cunt cheated the first time out.

NO he doesn't....Chavez is a future cash cow...Arum won't risk that prince from Miguel Cotto who on his way out.

If anything Cotto vs. Mayweather will happen next...

I wouldn't mind seeing it actually.I thought Cotto looked good tonight.

if they make Cotto/Chavez that's a slap in the face to Martinez who tried to make fights with both of those guys.

I want to see Cotto Vs Ginger.

    Cotto would beat him down.

Also, let's not forget that Cotto is not the same guy he was that first night either, he too is faded

    Irish Yuge, Beautiful

He oozed blood the first time. This time there was none of that.

    That was satisfying. Very satisfying.

I'd like to touch on one point being made. Yes, it was very similar to the first fight. Styles were essentially identical.

The only difference was Margarito could see during the first bout.

    That eye looked NASTY.

No matter how much they wanted it to continue, the ring doctor made the right call.

  17. Irish

    Yes, that's true.

If margarito doesn't fight Pac and Cotto doesn't fight Pac, then Margarito drops a 12 round decision tonight.

If Margarito doesn't cheat, he drops a close, maybe split, 12 round decision in the first fight.

    Simples.

He could see for half of this one too, which btw was about the point where Cotto's face started to look completely fucked and he started to really wear down.

Plasterito loaded his gloves in the first fight.

    What a total cunt.

I tend to feel that way too. Still, with that eye, it wasn't the same fight.

That's what it comes out as to me.

Cotto ended tonight marked up. So MArgarito was landing. He can't say that Cotto didn't fold because he, Margarito, was not landing.

He was landing. Just to no effect.

    Only one conclusion there.

I don't see it...he looks the same to me.

I wonder what other fights Margarito loaded his gloves in? The Lujan fight? He cut that fools ear off. :jaw:

No doubt the Lujan and Cotto fights.

I agree...Cotto just wins by a wider decision than he would have in their first fight, if the field had been level.

Cotto probably wins the first fight 8-4 or 7-5.

This one he wins 12-0 or 11-1 because of the eye.

The eye only effects the margin by which he wins.

Garcia is a real POS too, that's the second time he's failed to protect his fighter.

Absolutely - that's the thing, he was landing the same amount of punches as the first fight, when he got close he was going for it, and landing some sneaky inside uppercuts and hooks etc.

The difference is Cotto's eyes were simply mildly marked up, rather than his face being a swollen, red, lumpy, bleeding mess.

  28. steve_dave

    steve_dave Hard As Fuck

That's fair. Don't get me wrong, Cotto wins tonight bad eye or no. But perhaps Margarito is way more effective down the stretch here if he could see his target.

    Just tossing it out there.

Thanks for the round by round guys. Just caught up on it after watching Agbeko/Mares.

Margarito would've straight fired him if he dared to throw the towel.
