I don't know much about Anselmo Moreno, who Vic the rat is fighting on Saturday, but I see that he knocked out Parra and otherwise has an impressive record.

Does he hit harder than his record suggests (his KO percentage is on the low side but he's fought a lot of good fighters)?

And what about all of the split decisions? Did he deserve most of them?

What are his chances to beat Vic?

I've been critical of Darchinyan because on the outside he seems like a total dick. But I have to give him credit for the number of top fighters he's been willing to face.

Is anyone else excited about this matchup? On the undercard of Mares/Agbeko II (another fight worth getting excited about)?

Bizarrely this is apparently the little Rat's last boxing match, then he's moving into MMA.

    I've never seen Moreno.

Seriously? Wow. I don't recall ever watching an MMA match-up with fighters as little as he is. Isn't featherweight like 140 pounds?

Yep, you're right, well - feather is actually 145

Bantamweight is 135 and the new lowest division in the UFC.

Seems like a highly peculiar choice, he's not even big enough, and has no MMA experience, he'll get destroyed and make boxing look bad.

This is part of the problem with boxing. The MMA people will welcome him with greater enthusiasm and fanfare than we did in boxing. Boxing has a snobbery that needs rooting out.

I have never seen Moreno fight so I can't call it. But Vic has not been as effective at 118 like he was at 112 and 115

if he is really going to MMA after this fight he will make a fool of himself.

He already looks akward moving around a boxing ring walking like a crab.

It's a dumb move since he is already in the picture for big fights at 118 or 122

Vic is getting his hat handed to him.

I can't believe the one ringside writer has Moreno up by 1 point. Vic has won two rounds AT MOST.

Judges had it 8-4, 9-3 and 12-0 for Moreno.

One ringside writer had it 7-5 for Moreno.

It's a stretch to find 4 rounds for Vic but five?

Damn, did Darchinyan ever get whipped!

Agbeko and Mares about to start. A rare treat indeed to see Boxing like this on Free-to-air in Oz. Beautiful Summer day to boot.

Loaded, he was terrific. A perfect matador to The Raging Bull.

Beautifully-orchestrated fightplan. Darchinyan could hardly place a glove on him.

Moreno is cancer to the eyes, but Darchynian really is one of the least adaptable elite level fighters I've ever seen.

He makes Trinidad look like a chameleon in the ring.

That's good, because when he gets destroyed in MMA, we'll be all like, well he was a scrubby little bantamweight anyway

He was ultra-confident as well. Said before the fight he was going to beat Darchinyan badly. In the post fight interview he said something like "I think he's a stupid fighter. I knew i would dominate him over the fight."

Yeah, he said he knew Darchinyan was a stupid fighter.

Hes not wrong, but even allowing for that fact, he can be very proud of the manner in which he neutralised a dangerous and proven ring predator. Stopped him dead in his tracks.

Not quite as proud as neutralising him with 1 left hook in the 5th round though ;)

A dominant schooling is impressive, but to me there's nothing quite as emphatic as a convincing KO or stoppage win.

Worst fight in history. Awful. If you missed it, you have 45 minutes more than I have. Moreno is a cunt. I hope he dies.

A "dominant schooling" Lol. That guy Moreno has the worst style I have ever seen. He couldn't dominate a 9 year old girl with herpes. The guy's style is "Pernell Whitaker mixed with Corey Spinks." Anyone who wants to see Moreno again other than to see him in a casket has a gasket loose. If I were governor , I would jail him for robbery. All the fans came to see a fight, not a guy run around like Vic has two knives in his hands. Vic didn't land a shot and could have air condition the arena. Still, that doesn't mean Moreno should not be banned from the sport. Anyone who think she is the real deal, should collect Barbie Dolls. Boxing is a martial art. Moreno should win the Gandhi peace prize for 2011.
