the crowds margarito has drawn have been primarily an undyingly loyal mexican fanbase in dallas and mexico... and the real crowds were there for the other fighter in the case of pac and cotto. i'll agree Marg is usually very entertaining, and that's another reason why people see him fight... not because he is a swell bloke. they'd go see arturo gatti and he' was another wife beating/criminal/drunk.

Actually I have met Tony and much of his family and have spoken to them in Ac up in their rooms. The family is very nice , Tony is polite but speaks no English, and I truthfully was shocked when in my heart I heard about the plaster cause I always thought of him as an aggressive , real tough gritty fighter. At the Lujan fight I thought something was wierd as I have watched fights for well over a half century and this was grotesqw as it comes. I even though Cotto may have ran out of gas as much as I love Miguel during the first fight but after Mosely I realized my feelings wre misplaced. The Tony with that grin on his face Saturday was not the Tony I used to admire and root for.. Things change I guess. GS

I don't endorse cheating of any kind, or steroids, but I look at it like this.

You take 2 fighters of roughly equal talent and skill, you give one of them concrete in his gloves, and the other EPO - who are you going to pick?

Steroids didn't seem to do Shane and Vargas much good against Oscar.
