    Cotto did well.

I felt that Margarito was slowly getting to him and should have been allowed to continue but the truth is Cotto showed skill, heart and power and wouldn't have wilted anyway.

Margarito is one tough son of a bitch to keep taking those punches and continue to apply the pressure.

Cotto impressed me tonight though. It takes huge balls to go into the ring with a man that has stopped you before and go out to inflict damage. Usually a formerly knocked out fighter fights a very negative fight but Cotto was boxing aggressively and had the eye of the tiger.

Dare I say it: best performance of Cotto's career.

Yeah I think Cotto may have been a bit winded but since he hadn't suffered near the damage he did the first time, if the fight had continued I think we'd have seen more of the same, which = more damage to Margarito's eye.

Cotto made a few subtle adjustments with the occasional clinching, and pushing Margarito back, and using agles against Tony as opposed to just sliding on the ropes.

    Great performance from Cotto indeed.

Needless to say, Cotto didn't look that fucking fragile when he wasn't getting hit by bits of concrete ;)

I don't know why. Pacman deserves and assist as much as Cotto. Margarito waS HALF BLIND FROM GO. Pacman and Cotto should get half victories. I am glad. No one deserves getting battered more than that sociopath Margarito. Cotto still is fragile.

Sly , will you not address at all the issue with the wraps? Cotto deserves credit for sure, but doesn't it need mentioning that in fact Margarito was landing shots - they just didn' hurt? And that in all likelihood Cotto would've won the first fight too had it not been for the wraps?

He won't admit it, because it'll add to Pacquiao's win over Cotto, that Sly likes to downplay because Cotto is so "fragile".

But watch him praise Cotto's victory tonight...if a month or two from now Mayweather vs. Cotto is announce.

"cotto looked awesome in his last fight, Mayweather fight guys coming off huge victories"

"cotto is still in his prime"

    etc

Why is Cotto fragile? Because he got stopped by Pacquiao and a guy with plaster in his gloves?

Perhaps. I predicted that Margarito would win the first fight by late TKO though so my speaking of Cotto's "fragility" isn't as a result of that fight. It was from his fights with Corley and some other dude before that.

But yes, it appears that the handwrap could have had something to do with it.

I don't downplay Pac's win over Cotto. It was an impressive win. When have I said otherwise?

You are an ignorant Puerto Rican bumbaclaat...but I like you for some reason!

In this instance you are correct. I will say exactly that. Cotto looked as good as he had ever looked and he seems to have his confidence back.

Ergo....wehn Floyd butchers him..FLOYD IS THE MAN!

If Cotto doesn't re sign with Arum, I could actually see Mayweather-Cotto happening in May.

    Miguel deserves the pay day.

Judging from his post fight speech, he probably is going to re sign with Arum.

"Bob Arum will always be my promoter" (big hug).

Arum did say that though about a week or so ago that his relationship with Cotto was still strained, and he cited his defending of Margarito being a big reason and how Cotto didn't even WANT to do the rematch with Margarito due to the whole situation.

Cotto's a professional guy and he may not publicly throw Arum under the bus but I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he is ready to strike out on his own now.
