My guess, too. Wright would have bested Trinidad, and bested him comfortably, at any stage of their careers.

i always said wright would beat trinidad, even when it was a minority opinion. that said, in the late rounds at his 154lbs peak, trinidad would remain dangerous.

I found it hard to believe it was ever a minority opinion, watching how vulnerable Tito was to someone with Winky's style. Yet it was, inexplicably, true. Trinidad stayed dangerous late against De La Hoya and Hopkins too, but he never seriously threatened either because he was totally lacking in the skills needed to negotiate their defense. He would fare no better here.

Trinidad learns from his mistakes and jabs his way to a comfortable decision

Before or after he displays dazzling footwork and slick defense to avoid Wright's two-fisted windmill attack?

Dude...I was dog-piled around here for having the audacity to pick Wright to beat Trinidad. Those picking Wright were totally in the minority.

Back when Tito was killing everyone at 154 it would have been a good fight. Five years later, it wasn't.

I dont think it would ever have been a good fight. Neither exciting, nor competitive.

Trinidad would be a bit more competetive, but still lose... awful style match-up for him

Yeah, I'd pick him to lose too... but he'd be more competitive and actually win some rounds.

To this day, Wright vs Trinidad is one of the more enjoyable/hilarious fights. I watched at a bar filled with Puerto Rican fans...the place was LOUD. Tito fans were as loud and obnoxious as Floydidiots or PacTards.

All throught the undercard there was loud cheering and singing and when Tito came out my ears were ringing from the cheering clapping and "Viva Puerto Rico" chants.

By the end of round three I'd say the volume had died down maybe 50%.

By round six there were a few chants of "Tito"

By round ten...crickets...could hear bar music playing.

By round twelve...sad faces all around.

People filed out damn near one by one.

    I was alllll smiles.
