Realistically, what are Manny's chances of beating Floyd

I have to say, even though I thought Pacquiao deserved the nod against JMM in their third fight, he appeared amazingly vulnerable compared to his performances against Cotto, Mosley and Margarito.

I recognize the advantage in hand-speed was a huge asset for Pacquiao in his fights with bigger men, and that it was largely missing against JMM. But I knew that going into the fight. It was still a surprise to see him struggle, having won nearly every round against those other guys.

At this point, I'm not sure what to think. If my life depended on my picking the winner, I'd go with PBF. But I wouldn't be so sure that he'd be as puzzled by PBF as he was by JMM.

I'd like to point out that the difficulty of facing counter-punchers isn't just that they can beat you by countering. It's also that they can make it appear like they beat you, even when they didn't.

  5. Manny has a better chance of beating Floyd now that he had a tough fight with Marquez than he would have done had he blown away Marquez like so many of us thought he would.

Mayweather fights better when the threat is greater. Now Floyd may be a tad too confident and that in itself gives Manny a better chance.

The chance is still slim though. All Floyd need to do to win this fight is walk forward and jab jab jab and throw lead right hands. He can throw the ocassional check left hook when Manny gets close....but that's about it. Floyd's countering would give manny fits.

You had me then you lost me.

I'm gonna give you the benefit of the doubt and say that your summary of, "all that PBF needs to do," is not because you know nothing about boxing, but rather that you've just scooted a little too close to PBF's nuts.

So he's throwing jabs and lead right hands? You mean jab, jab, jab. Stop. Stop. Now lead right? Because if he's following the jab with a right hand, it's not a lead right hand.

Also, if you truly believe that's all he has to do I implore you to stay out of these discussions - that level of ignorance and/or nut-huggery is simply dangerous.

Floyd's right hand will do serious damage to Manny for sure.

  9.

I never said "one-two". I said jab jab jab. I also said throw lead right hands. The two are not mutually exclusive. You are the ignorant one Double L.

Yes that's all he has to do...his natural defensive reflexes and counterpunching instincts will do the rest.

I recognize that both can be employed. But you didn't make it clear you weren't suggesting he follow up his jab with a lead right hand, which of course, is non-sensical.

The bigger point, though, is the flaw in your take that it will be easy for him to beat Pacquiao - that all he needs to do is throw his jab and lead right hand. That's simply ridiculous. You don't think Pacquiao's a competent counter-puncher? One of the keys to success against PBF is the ability to attack him from different angles. Not only has Pacquiao become adept at that, but he'll have ample opportunity to do so if indeed PBF becomes active with his gay-ass lead right hand, and even his jab, which if he follows up on, he does so with delay.

I think Manny has a chance early in the fight. Floyd has shown that he sometimes can take a couple rounds to adjust to his opponents speed, when they have world class speed. Even moreso with southpaws.

Judah was winning early until Floyd adjusted. Corley hurt him early before Floyd adjusted. Mosley caught him early as well.

Plus, Pac has a habit of surprising people early with his speed/power combination. He did it to Barrera, Hatton, JMM #1 (imagine, two more good punches and we'd have 35 less rounds between the two), and a few others who were down early and were able to adjust afterwards... JMM and Larios in particular were able to adjust and settle down.

I think Pac has a chance in the first couple rounds to blitz Floyd. After that I don't like his chances.

  12. I didn't have to make that clear...only to an idiot would it not be clear. If I'm talking about lead right hands I'm obviously not talking about right hands immediately following jabs. Floyd is known for his lead right hands is he not?

I'm going to resist making a joke here and just state the obvious: I know what sly was trying to get across, and I see how Double L interpreted it. Sly didn't mean it the way you interpreted it, Double L.

Of course, the snipping between you two is most enjoyable, so don't let me interrupt. Proceed. [IMG]

"I used to not be a Pacquiao nuthugger!!!" This is relevant to your current fag lust for Pacquiao because.. ?

Congratulations, your ineptitude in picking fights eclipses even your nuthugging. Quite a feat.

really? what an unusual and bold perspective on your part

But now, of course, he would have knocked out Floyd 2 years ago!

    cool story bro

You always know when a man has lost when instead of responding to posts in a normal manner, they run out of ideas, write a bunch of random gibberish and even include such clichéd juvenile atrocities as "cool story bro".

    I win, you lose. That's because I'm a winner, and you're a loser.

You lost after I made a post showing your own words making you look foolish. Everything else after that has just been me amusing myself with you.

Make up your fucking stupid ass mind. Does he win a close decision or give Floyd a beating? You so dumb you confuse yourself.

Oh and If Manny is "shot" at age 32 because he is showing "signs of slowing down", well that means his whole fucking resume is full of "shot" fighters.

You're too stupid to realize that when you start in with the excuses, they can backfire.

Chill baby boy, stop begging for my attention, I thought I'd made it pretty clear by now that I don't like you.

No you don't understand, I win, you lose.

You're an idiot, and I'm not.

That's the problem with morons like you, they simply have no idea how stupid they are, or when they've lost.

    Pacquiao > Floyd.

BTW Tex, I know I say loadedgloves is a moron, which he is, but you take it to the next level.

loadedgloves is more just your standard, generic, message board retard. Talks in clichés, doesn't know much about boxing, difficult to have a proper conversation with, and is generally obnoxious and annoying. He probably has an IQ of about 90.

You are more along the lines of qwerty level stupidity, I would be amazed if your IQ was over 50. I actually feel sorry for you, your extreme lack of intelligence, and lack ability to comprehend even the simplest things.

But like I said - get off my land, heathen.

He got bullied in England by people who look like Hatton, so he jumped ship to Canada, which is apparently full of people who look like Rubio MHS.
