Tried and arm, he rolled out as he went upward toward side control, I got my leg over and into the opa plata!
Flexibility has always been pretty good, I took Shaolin Kung fu for 4 years and we did a LOT of stretching :)
cool! did you submit him with it? i always had trouble hitting omaplatas, but im very (un?)flexible. constantly was caught in them though.
of course i did not break an arm, it is a training partner! for me, this is a tough one to get but what we were working on is.. say you got a guy in an arm bar, the guy that is in the arm bar, rolls, rolling out and around into getting you into side control, there is a brief moment when he transitions from the roll into trying to get side control where you can kick over and get the oma plata. it worked out really well! this is a dangerous one though as it is easy to hurt your partner.
