Dont be embarassed. The farally brothers are fucking funny. This look like a long ass episode of the three stooges.

  9. Can a 70-years old comedy be re-invented for modern-day audiences? :dunno:

It's not being re-invented. It just look like it's directly copying the old shows. Which are still VERY popular today.

The Stooges are a gem from a time that will never exist again... they are a slice of old New York as it was in the first half of the 20th century, they are especially frozen in the unique world of Brooklyn in those days, a place that was literally immigrants top to bottom, especially the Jews and the Italians (The Irish were more of a fixture in the Bronx, but there were some in Brooklyn too) and the unique accent that is utterly and completely locked into that one space and time, where "murder" is pronounced "moida" and "choice" is pronounced "cherce", that does not exist anymore, you could search high and low and you wouldn't find a soul in Brooklyn under the age of 85 who talked like that... Sometimes, I wish people would just appreciate things the way they were in the time they happened and quit trying to re-do them... The Three Stooges are funny because of their absurdist slapstick, but they are also funny because the time is funny, the language is funny, those are the same reasons why they are also immortal, we always see them as they were, they don't have to bend to our time, because they are not of our time, we adjust to THEIR time, the way you must if you are to fully respect any art that is so closely linked to the environment it takes place in.

Leave it alone... I would never watch this shit, just like I don't listen to "Adele", the chubby English singer, pretending to sing in a 1930s black american mississippi accent...

Agree. It's like re-making "The Honeymooners", without the domestic abuse. :nono:

It will be a monumental failure. The concept isnt cut out for a contemporary audience.
