Is this fight definitely happening? I heard it is + Andy Lee and Martin Murray are in talks to possibly meet on the undercard.

Even if Mayweather, Cotto, Pacquiao don't want to fight him....there has to be better competition in the division. This bum..the previous one...come on one easy fight is good enough...

Yeah, if he is allowed to use a baseball bat. Even then I wouldn't give him more than even money.

Does margined have one of those sweet hbo contracts? Seems like it based on his steady diet of nondescript comp. Yay hbo.

    +1

I am onto this fucking Martinez now.

Macklin is a moderately talented, well protected, well managed club-fighter.

Guys like Sibson, Kaylor, Herol Graham etc would have blasted him out.

He's part of what is probably the most average crop of British MW's for some time.

    He doesn't beat Howard Eastman.

Basically. I think everyone's being a bit harsh here. The guy is a middleweight, tops. Its obvious that physically he does not belong at supermiddle, so why would anyone want to see him fail at the higher division?

If he can end up fighting Macklin, Pirog, Golovkin, Proksa, Sturm, Quillin...I think there's plenty of talent there, and I would be happy to see it. I didnt even mention Chavez Jr or Canelo, these fights are obviously not going to happen. Unless he ages noticeably overnight.

Can anyone confirm whether or not Martinez has a HBO contract? It's seeming like he must, given the opponents he's been choosing.

I'm pretty sure you are the only one who knows who the hell that is.

Sounds like a polish bum to me.

    Canelo
    JCC Jr.
    Sturm

Or even Arthur Abraham, who is now moving back to MW.

Any of these would be bigger than a Macklin fight.

Abraham might be. The other 3 won't be. Chavez Jr won't be and Spurm is prostitute for Sauerland. Sauerland wants Spurm in Germany running around on his little bony legs for 12 rounds. Sturm could probably stick it to Martinez for a good bit if what we saw from Baker was anything to go by, but he's got no interest in going over there to do it.....he's a "World Champ", his fans think he is too, money is good, why risk it.
