what an utter thrash of a matchup.

I would have even prefered to see him against Haye

Total waste of time. Chisorsa will come to fight for sure, and that is why he will not see five rounds. A complete mismatch

An interesting challenge right now among managers is to time their fighter's rise to coincide as best as possible the decline of either of the klits. Whoever manages to be that guy will likely carry for a while praiseworthy designation. Of course, praiseworthiness will depend on getting to klit soon enough that he's not so obviously shot.

    That's what Haye is doing.

In the meantime, I fail to see what the beef here is.

Chisora isn't a run-artist. He's getting the gig off the basis of his showing vs Helenius. Same way Mullings got his title shot vs Norris. Solid matchup that one. More solid than Terry, as it happened.

I'd prefer if Vitali came back to America and took out Wilder or Mitchell.

If Haye wants to walk around with some handles and tits and wear a baseball cap at Kon vs Peterson, then I fail to see what Vitali is supposed to do about it.

Haye is scheduled to fight Vitali in summer and Povetkin isn't interested, so once again in this situation the fight is acceptable (Briggs fight wasn't). There are better guys than Chisora for sure but not ones who haven't been beaten by Klitshkos earlier

Fuck Haye, Vitali should have forced him to get into shape for March 31st. Vitali would disappoint me if he gives Haye another massive Summertime payday in a ball-park.

    Always missing the point, always

nobody's criticizing Vitali (well, maybe JOM is) we are just laughing at the matchup... it's a fight where the outcome has already been determined

What, are you clamoring for Vitali/Chisora?

Vitali TKO9... there I saved you the trouble of watching it... Chisora tries for a while but eventually all of the shots wear him down... fight over

Newsflash: Everybody here hates Haye and always did

Basically, Vitali has announced his next two fights. And it's a point of humour?? :dunno::scratcher:

    the matchup with Chisora is

is there any doubt at all who will win this fight? He may as well be fighting Mike Weaver RIGHT NOW... and again, save for one guy here, nobody said anything negative about Vitali, just the matchup itself, it's an easy win for him, there's not even a point to making it

Where is your indignation when people are tearing Sergio Martinez a new asshole over fighting Macklin?

  14. Irish

    Irish Yuge, Beautiful

I was in that Macklin thread and I already broke Mack down as basically a glorified clubfighter :dunno:

But who is Martinez supposed to fight?

Chisora pretty much won his last fight.......and who is Vitali supposed to fight?

I'd prefer if he took on the two Americans than Chisora and Haye.

It's not about "supposed to fight"-- you are reading too much into it, its just merely the humor inherent in the matchup

Larry Holmes/Alfredo Evangelista would have been funny on 1979 fightbeat

Steve's joke, a perfectly innocent joke, was that the fight holds little intrigue, it's an easy beatdown for the big guy

    Irish Yuge, Beautiful

Yes but Haye, a live fight, is probably an easy beat-down, as is Seth Mitchell, another fight he "could lose".

Right now, between him getting old and Mike Tyson discovering a time machine {improbable} and managing to squeeze Kevin Rooney into it too {really improbable} EVERY fight out there for the guy carries that veneer of inevitability about it.

The trick for him is to stay active and keep fighting and that serves boxing best. Pound for pound he's doing a better job than Floyd, who retreats, fights a hand-picked loser, retreats, hibernates, announces a hand-picked loser fight etc.

What chances did Ortiz and JMM have? According to HBO they were hired killers, according to the rest of us they were poo.

Vitaly klitchko is such a coward , fighting a guy who's coming off two defeat.

Chisora did beat a scrub between the fights (otherwise he wouldn't have been allowed to fight for the EBU title as the rules say a fighter mustn't have lost his last fight) and according to everybody who watched the fight Chisora deserved to get the decision over Helenius.

That being said, it is obvious Chisora is stylistically a perfect opponent for Vitali. Helenius' trainer Ulli Wegner doesn't want to have anything to do with Klitshkos at this moment (he has said that in public)

  19. Irish

    Irish Yuge, Beautiful

So....Helenius and Povetkin don't want to know, Wilder and Mitchell aren't ready, David Haye isn't good enough because 1) he's coming off a loss and 2) he's out of shape and 3) besides, he wants for Vitali to get old first.......so....:dunno:

yeah cause once one of the brother has beaten a fighter, it automatically prove that the other would beat him also.

  21. Ugotabe Kidding

Perhaps not, but if he fought them, all kinds of Jesuses would be screaming that he fights his brother's leftovers

In all seriousness, this is Vitali - Williams all over again, but this one shouldn't last as long and could end up with Chisora out cold.

Derek is the man. He has heavy hands and when he spanks his girlfriends bottom, she really feels it. When the judge spoke to Chisora about his aspiring heavyweight career, he said "I'm the best". He sad this shit in court, in front of witnesses. I'm surprised he didn't do time for contempt.

  26. Jimmy

Jimmy The Greatest of Are Times

He's too wild and sloppy for such a precise and accurate puncher as Vitali.

I don't have a big problem with Vitali-Chisora as a stay busy fight.

The biggest issue is that Wlad is looking at a dead 2012 campaign, unless Povetkin and Atlas finally grow some balls.

Personally, I'd rather see Vitali pick up Wlad's mandatory and fight Tony Thompson and for Wlad to face Chisora, both fights taking place in the 1st Q of '12 to free up the rest of the year. Instead, we're now looking at 2012 campaigns of:

    Vitali - Chisora, Haye
    Wlad - Mormeck, Thompson

I understand that they have to stay busy and fight SOMEONE. Even harder when guys like Povetkin refuse to fight them and guys like Helenius and Mitchell aren't even close to being ready (not to mention that Helenius was given an early Christmas gift in otherwise being humiliated by Chisora).

Couldn't Vitali at least fight Fury, who recently whipped Chisora?

Or is he avoiding his shot too?

  29. Irish

    Irish Yuge, Beautiful

Regarding Fury, as I stated a while back, his moderate talent is evaporating through a blend of Club Soda's, Club Oranges, Club-Milks and Night-Clubs. He needs to rededicate. Trust me, I know his sort, I went to school with them, they are famed story-tellers, bullshitters of the highest order. He's over there in England and if you let him, he'll tell you that the Klitschkos are terrified of him. Fury needs to get his act together.

I have no interest in either of Wlad's mooted fights. None. Nobody else does either of course, but when I have none, then you know there's an issue.

I had Chisora win by 3 clear rounds and Vitali probably did too. Helenius says he broke his hand in the first round, maybe he did

I do know he did not win that fight.
