Ive never been as excited about a fight in a long while. two guys who deserve to be there and are arguably the two best in the division going up against each other. Its gonna be good.

This is THE fight of 2011 IMO: the two best in their division meeting to determine the true champ :bears: I hope Froch is ready, because Ward is one of the dirtiest little fuckers I've seen in years. It also so happens that he isn't bad at fighting, either, so the farmer has his work cut out. I can't see the farmer winning, to be honest, and I think he'll drop a close but clear UD. MTF
This seems to be the consensus opinion. I'd like to believe more in Froch, who makes more out of his talent than probably any other fighter in the game today. From Pascal on, he boasts the toughest resume in the sport today, yet with just one loss to show for it. I wouldn't mind seeing him taking the whole thing - would be well-deserved, and not very much has been asked of Ward really his entire career save for his breakout performance against Kessler. All that said, I'm not sure Froch does any more than just enough to convince himself that he was robbed once the final decision is announced. A shame that given the magnitude of this fight, it will be fought in front of a virtually empty arena. The delay benefited both fighters as far as training goes, but couldn't come at a worse time for the box office. Nobody's going to Atlantic City a week before Christmas. That's one area where the Super Six fell miserably short. The marketplace was supposed to dictate where fights took place, but for whatever reason had the language of the contracts dictate that the semifinals and finals would take place in America.
AgREED on Froch. I like him a lot- he is a massive overachiever who will fight anyone put in front of him. It has literally been YEARS since he took a soft match-up. Ward, on the other hand, has had a fairly simple path through to this fight, save Kessler (at home) which was obviously an excellent win. If this fight had been held in the UK, it would have sold out a stadium IMO. Can't ever imagine Ward accepting that one, though, which is kind of a shame in terms of atmosphere but I suppose understandable in the circumstances. Really looking forward to this, though. MTF
I actually like Froch quite a bit too. He's grown on me. He's obviously much more likeable as a fighter than Ward. I just don't think he's on that level. Mark me down as very excited for this fight. I'm probably in the minority, but I've loved every second of the Super Six.
Agreed on Frock too. After going from a huge doubter of the Fighting Farmer, I now consider myself a fan. It's very true, he's an absolute overachiever, he's somehow made a LOT out of a very modest amount of talent at world level. You can't help but like a guy like that, and he can actually fight, unlike overhyped scrubs such as Arabham. I also see him losing a decision but giving a good account of himself. I hope he's prepared for Ward's extreme dirtiness, he's clearly the dirtiest fighter in the sport.
I'm looking forward to the fight as well. I'm torn as to who will win. Ward is skilled, poised and definitely the more technically sound of the two. I have reservations as to whether Ward can hurt Froch (with head shots, I think Carl's achilles heel are body shots). If it's an inside mauling kind of fight you have to favor Ward. I don't think Froch is adept at fighting on the inside, but I do believe he's physically stronger than Ward and overtime the leaning and pushing could work against Ward. I'm also not sold on Ward's chin. I think Froch's best chances are catching Ward coming in. Froch does what Khan does...he punches, squares up then throws himself off balance. Froch punches with power from crazy angles, but I think Ward will see most of it coming and stay out of harm's way. I can see Ward getting up in rounds then Froch realizing he can't be hurt then walking Andre' down. This could very well turn out to be like Froch's fight with Jermain Taylor...finishing strong except Ward has the skill to run out the clock. Just like Jake said...Froch fights well enough to claim he was robbed. Personally, I thought Froch lost to Dirrell. I also thought he lost (rightfully so) to Kessler in a close decision. Either way, of the guys in the tournament and truthfully over the past three to four years Froch has done what many other fighters (including the P4P best) haven't done. He has faced every top guy in his division. Win or lose, whether you like Froch or not that speaks volumes about the guy.
Same. it's made for consistent, top-level match-ups. Froch looks awful. He has no defence, has no real power at world level and the speed of a sloth. But he has real heart, loves to fight, is as tough as nails and has an insatiable will-to-win. His resume, as Jake stated, is absolutely excellent. He will probably lose vs Ward but it will not be for the lack of trying. IMO he's an absolute credit to boxing. MTF
How can anyone be excited for an Andre Ward fight. Has he ever been anything other than dull match? I will watch if only for the off chance that the deserving, real, true and legitimate fighter lands and accidental bomb that sends Ward twitching in unconsciousness. What will happen is Ward will hold, headbutt, run, hold, slap and dance his way to an illegal win which is what he has done in every fight in his illegal career. Ward will clinch more than he will land. Ward is a cocksucker. Easily the most disgusting fighter in the sport today.
I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. So far, it has been Goosen doing his job and Ward has benefited. I don't think it's fair to imply that Ward is afraid to travel. Of course, now that everyone is sanctioning Joe Cooper's raping of Khan, even I would be reluctant to travel to Britain.
Two most deserving perhaps, but Kessler's win over Froch was not all that controversial it was just close. Bute certainly seems like he could be the best or 2nd best in the division, as well. A lot of people thought Dirrell beat Froch...which means it's very possible Froch is just the 5th best supermid going into this fight even with his superb resume.
Yeah thats how I see it too. I agree with the consensous though that Mr. Froch is an absolute credit to the sport.
America!! Froch yeah!! Amir Khan says that Froch needs a KO to win. :: I'm feeling Ward 7-5, 7-5, 5-7 Froch.
Well, in his last six fights, Ward has fought in: California, Oakland In his last six fights, Froch has fought in: Atlantic City, Helsinki, Herning, Conneticuit, Nottingham MTF :dunno:
So what is Ward? He has a win over Abraham (Froch's was more impressive) and, er, Kessler. Froch beat Dirrell (anyone who thinks otherwise is no boxing fan), Pascal (Clear), Abraham (Schooling), Taylor (KTFO), Johnson (Close but Clear). He lost a wafer thin decision, away, to a former unified champ (Kessler). If Froch is the 5th best, Ward must be no better than 6th. And Bute? His resume is a disgrace. MTF
froch did seem like a chump on the face off when he was justifying why he was down on his knees praying to get the decision over dirrell.
Froch was clearly losing to Jermain Taylor until he gassed. I thought Dirrell should have won vs Froch, and Kessler...well you know what happened there.
:: Not sure if you're kidding. When Froch fights and loses to Kessler, he's a former unified champ. When Ward beats him he's, er, Kessler.
