Some debatable stuff there, but I shall refrain. As it happens, I also liked Collins. He was limited as fuck but 'hard'. I think a comparison with the fighting farmer is fair, too.

    Pascals Wager Undisputed Champion

    Ali.
He's the style fighter that I like. I like the guys the box use the jab, throw combinations, have good hand and foot speed.

But the reason that I love Ali, is because he has everything that I think a great fighter should have. Great heart, desire to prove he was the best, great resourcefulness, toughness (mental and physical). He won against the odds, he showed compassion, and he had no quit in him whatsoever.

I also really like Ali as a human being. I know he said some questionable stuff, but I truly believe that he has a good heart.

Ali was insanely naturally gifted, and he had great heart, and instinctive boxing intelligence. Add to that his one-of-a-kind personality and you have the recipe for the greatest fighter ever to walk the planet.

    Hatton.

Fuck his out of ring activities, or what you make of his character, it's what he did in the ring that matters here!

He always came to fight (his aggressive style was infectious, especially his hooks to the body)
    - he took on all comers
    - he took on the best

He's the guy that really got me into boxing. I've seen alot of his fights live on tv, but never got the chance to see him live, unfortunately.

Your favorite had more skill, but my favorite had yours hurt bad. What can I say? McCallum was a great fighter who never got his due. Julian Jackson got tons of chances under DK.

Great issue. I bought it when it came out.

    Tyson.

He's the reason I started following boxing (which I'm sure is true for many).

Jones & Ali are basically tied as my 2nd favorite all time fighters.

I think Johnson beat Collins pretty clearly.

Collins was highly competitive, but Reggie for the most part outboxed him.

  9. who?

    who? Undisputed Champion

Iron Mike for the reasons most have stated. The excitement building up to the fights, his demeanor, the ring walks, the staredowns, the fact you knew there was gonna be a fight and he was going to try and knock the other guy out immediately. It was electrifying.

My most hated fighter is Lewis.

Just a disgusting, boring, cowardly oaf. A real dickhead with the IQ of a fence post.

Mike Tyson, because he was so damn fun to watch.

    DITTO.

McCallum was very talented though. He had impeccable timing - the kind that made his fights seem choreographed at times with his uncanny ability not only to anticipate his opponent's move, but to respond in the most efficient and appropriate manner imaginable.

I'm more heterosexual than you could possibly imagine.

What's gay is feeling like complimenting another man's hair or looks makes one gay.

I'm confident enough in my vehemently hetero sexuality to be able to make such statements without going all "ergh ergh, gay".

Yes, but he would punt Duran

Yes, I'm sure Lewis would love to "punt" Duran, but unfortunately for Lewis, Duran is strictly heterosexual.

You can't really believe that. Hips of Hump is the most obviously queer boxer in the history of the sport

Tyson, followed by Chavez and Jones.

How was that show, promotion-wise (not the card itself, which I know wasn't much)? I've heard very mixed reviews but the ones that didn't care for the event seem to be a little too used to HBO/Showtime cards.

My answer for this thread is Felix Trinidad. Hard to explain, but just always felt drawn in whenever he fought. To me, he connected with the fans like no other fighter in my generation (at least on this side of the Atlantic).

Incidentally I've always considered my 2nd favourite to be Tyson, then King Carlos, but I think at this point I'm going to have to insert El Terrible as my second favourite fighter ever.

Prime Tyson is a joy to watch, but pretty much any version of Morales is a joy to watch, one of the most entertaining fighters ever, with all time great courage and bravery.

    I'd add Morales as well

    Also Pernell Whitaker

I don't know know how can you be a boxing fan and not love Morales, he's everything that's great about the sport - including a high level of offensive skill in addition to his action packed style and courage.
