    Thats being generous

Even without PEDs, he was at least as good as Sugar Ray Seales though.

Never really saw Hatton as a, "Hitman," & Tszyu's nickname of, "The Thunder From Down Under?" He was Russian.

    Zab "Super" Judah? Please.

Israel Vazquez --- a crude, face-first brawler, was not, "Magnifico."

Vazquez was hardly crude. Nor was he simply a brawler. Offensive? No question. But very skilled. That's how he managed to whip your boy twice, when it counted.

  13. Neil

    Neil tueur de grenouilles

as for nicknames Johnny Nelson comes to mind.

    joan guzman

Agreed, I thought that was a very odd thing to say about Vazquez.

Izzy was a skilled, compact, offensive fighter, not even close to being a crude brawler.

  15. Neil

    ^consider the source.

I love how people pretend the fourth fight didnt happen because they prefer Vazquez. It counted because Marquez is the man who put Vazquez in that diminished state.

And your definition of, "whipped," is amusing. An arguably premature stoppage and a SD are whippings? How about making someone quit and later blowing them out in three rounds? What would you call that?

Far more decisive for my money.

  17. ArturoGatti

ArturoGatti WBC Silver Diamond Emeritus Champ

i honestly didn't even know there was a 4th fight? ANy good?

  18. steve_dave

    steve_dave Hard As Fuck

Nah, wasn't a real fight... Vazquez came in with a ruined eye, and the fight was stopped in the 3rd.

  25. Jake

Jake WBC Silver Diamond Emeritus Champ

Lightning Joe Gatti - I get why he was stuck with the nickname, but still.

Junior The Hitter Witter - with the exception of Vivian Harris, can't think of a meaningful fight to justify the tag

Ben 'Wonder' Tackie - unless it was in reference to wondering when he'd throw a punch.

  27. Neil

    Neil tueur de grenouilles

face it, you made a moronic, biased comment. meaningless bout

  28. Ramonza Soliloquies

    Ramonza Soliloquies "Twinkle Toes" McJack

Yeah, because youre a pillar of objectivity on Marquez after he beat your man-crush.

The bout was, "meaningless," because it couldnt match the excitement of the previous fights. Why? Because Marquez RUINED Vazquez. Take that to the bank. He disposed of the corpse of a figure he had rendered Vazquez. They are two-two in actual bouts, but Marquez ended Vazquez's career. Literally. And because imbeciles like you didnt find the clash fun, it is, "meaningless." LOL.

Marquez's victories were also the more clear-cut. He's just a better boxer than Vazquez, but had to overcome size and style disadvantages --- which he did --- to the demise of Vazquez's career.

i have always been a fan of rafael marquez and was rolling with him in all 4 of the fights against vasquez. fact of the matter is, the 4th fight was a farce and anyone who knows anything about boxing realized as much going into the bout. especially after seeing vasquez go life and death with a play dough fisted flyweight. vasquez won 2 of the 3 fights that actually mattered. not bad for a crude face first brawler.

    Ramonza Soliloquies "Twinkle Toes" McJack

It didnt, "matter," because everyone knew Marquez had trashed Vazquez and the bout wouldnt be enthralling. This is primitive thinking. If entertainment was the only measure of worth, Lennox Lewis wouldnt have a legacy.

You are correct Vazquez did do well for a crude, face-first brawler...that is nonetheless what he was. "Magnifico?" Ricardo Lopez, Pernell Whitaker, Muhammad Ali...those are magnifico. It is hardly an appropriate description of Vazquez.
