Jesus, somebody knows nothing about boxing. How is the KHAN/Mayweather shaping up:l2::l2:Froch is not good, but Bute is not clearly better than Froch.
Boot is the most over-protected load of shite in boxing today. The guy lost to Andrade, FFS. Andrade... MTF
I wonder if Ward would be interested in the huge gate and huge money a fight with Bute in Montreal would generate. How's Ward as a draw in Oakland?
Ward talked after the fight about the fact it was a new experience for him fighting outside his hometown with a hostile crowd. Pretty pathetic only now has he had to experience that.
There's nothing to really agree or disagree with it. I was stating my opinion, not trying to pass it off as stone-cold fact. I guess I worded it wrong as Irish said the same - I was a fan of the tournament as well, or at least its concept. Just thought that it was poorly executed (and promoted). But as Ward and Froch both said, their careers don't get this boost without the tournament. The comparison I was making was that the tournament dragged on. And (for me) as the fight went on, it just didn't hold my interest. It went as most expected. Yes, Froch had a late rally as Ward was fatigued - but the Taylor KO has proven more and more to be an anomaly (much like Abraham's own KO over him, which was the last good moment in his career). Virgil Hunter raised a great point in the buildup to the fight - for Froch's rep as a puncher, he hasn't even come close to hurting anyone never mind threatening to score a KO since the Taylor fight, and that was 2 1/2 years ago.
Im not really convinced Bute is that good. Id like to see him against one of the super six originals and see how he does. For all the talk of Ward not wantng to leave Oakland, at least he's fought the best in the division. Bute is very overprotected.
If by "injury" you mean normal handwraps, without any concrete in them, then yes Bute would be coming to the ring with the same "injury", as would Frock.
Bute is very good, in fairness, he's just not prepared to push himself to prove it. If you don't have the bottle to hunt down Bute- and its not easy- then you are going to cop a solid hiding. My beef with Bute is that he's a bigger, better more talented version of Felix Sturm, he has fat Canuck teat in his gob and he likes it too much.
Precisely, so he does just that...fights "no matter" people. His performance vs Johnson put Frochs in the shade, though......we may, it could be pointed out, be making a similar mistake with him as was done with Ward......beating the shit of Andrade and gassing at the end doesn't make you a terrible fighter, especially when you utterly dominate and stop him in shocking fashion in a rematch you probably wouldn't have given him you were an entire homer to begin with. That first short left was class. <object style="height: 390px; width: 640px"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/3EPYpA_my9o?version=3&feature=player_detailpage"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/3EPYpA_my9o?version=3&feature=player_detailpage" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="360"></object>
He sort of has the Lamont/Anthony Peterson thing going. Andre fought at 165 in the olympics, Ward fought at 178. Pretty sure that Anthony was stuck fighting Ward and not his brother, although it's pretty obvious all of them should have been 165 lbers. As I remember, Ward didn't run to 178 to avoid Andre Dirrell out of fear or anything, I think they were just friends and Ward went up. In the ams, I heard of Anthony Dirrell, but I don't think I ever saw him fight. I'm guessing he came out as a pro in 2004 ahead of the olympians, but that's easy enough to verify. I do know they were always fighting on the same cards at first so if Anthony had a lead, it wasn't much. Anyway, just like Anthony Peterson was the more explosive and (imo) more impressive guy compared to their brothers when they were both starting out, Anthony Dirrell was blasting the piss out of guys while Andre tended to outclass them with his matrix thing. Even though I've liked Andre Dirrell forever, I was beginning to think that Anthony might make the better pro overall. Then Anthony Dirrell was diagnosed with cancer and that was that. Whatever momentum he had dissolved and he disappeared from boxing while he fought cancer. When he came back...after 2 years or so, I think...he fought shit fighters...had some problems with them (although I don't think they were televised so it didn't hurt his standing as much as it might have)...but managed to win them all the same...so a guy that was pretty much equal to his brother at one time in their careers was fighting scrubs at the same time his brother was involved in the Super Six. Anthony finally had a step up fight recently and looked impressive by all accounts...and now is a mandatory challenger for either Bute or Ward...and figures to be a step behind either of them at this point in his career. However, he won't be without hope due to his am background and his power.
His uppercut to the guts is some pretty xenophobic stuff. I dont know why many consider Bute a club, at this juncture he's well the best fight out there for Irish Ward, and depending on how his stamina holds up, he's well a shoe-in to beat johnny 5, :nono: despite you FINDING OUT,..and now you holding out.
Have a look at this.:scared: <object style="height: 390px; width: 640px"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/zasulH2jP44?version=3&feature=player_detailpage"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/zasulH2jP44?version=3&feature=player_detailpage" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="360"></object> PS....Johnny 5 has the same name as Johnny 1.
Snakes and ladders, snakes and ladders,..when Mariusz rolled that pink rag of dog meat over, I was able to see Froch's true ranking again,..! :tick: ,..conjecture, :crafty: conjecture if you please..
Don't know. Considering that you and I haven't had any disagreements that I can remember, if you are hitting on me hoping for a cocksucker I suggest you should look to cdogg187
agREED with this 100% I like what I see from Bute, but was quite offputting that he elected to coast during the course of the Super Six, when he had a chance to make a major statement. I hated that Arum kept Donaire and Montiel out of Showtime's bantamweight tournament, but at least Donaire proved his worth when the two fought head on (and also against Sidirenko two months before that). Style-wise, I expect a Ward-Bute fight to be more competitive and entertaining than last night's fight. The trick would be where to stage it, considering that both guys will probably go big dick with one another for quite a while, possibly becoming the super middleweight's own Mayweather-Pacquiao.
