I'd include; Burns v Katsidis Ortiz v Berto Maidana v Morales Concepcion v Marquez 1 Pacquiao v Marquez
Pac vs Marquez- good fight, very very close fight, between guys that could fight. Khan vs Peterson- because everyone else will too. :wack: Paul Appleby vs Liam Walsh- "Domestic" UK barnburner. Ortiz vs Berto- low-level shootout. Decent fare. A functional top-tenner :laugh11:
Ortiz/Berto. It is the only fight I viewed multiple times in 2011. I still have it in my tevo. Never had the heart to delete it. Good fight.Strange that I enjoyed it because I have no particular fondness for either guy.
Ortiz Vs Berto was undeniably a very fun fight. Even my girlfriend enjoyed it, and she hasn't enjoyed much boxing since Chico vs Castillo 1. Is it any good on second viewing though? I was thinking it was the kind of fight that was fun to watch live, but maybe not on repeat viewing. Pacquiao Vs Marquez at the time I thought was boring, but actually was a decent fight. A high level chess match that could have gone either way, as close as they come. Morales Vs Maidana too, Morales being in a boring fight is basically impossible. That's about it though, there haven't been many spectacular fights this year. Ortiz Vs Berto would have to be my choice I think, the most fun and action packed of the lot, albeit on the scrubby side.
was it two japanese fighters? what about Linares/DeMarco, I have only seen highlights? I know Irish enjoyed that one.
Rios/Urbano was a good one too, also Kirkland/Angulo. Two Japanese fighters Rios/Urbano Kirkland/Angulo Ortiz/Berto Khan/Peterson Wolak/Rodriguez Wolak/Rodriguez 2 Concepcion/Marquez Katsidis/Guerrero Marquez/Pacquiao 3 would be my list. I have an easier time making my MMA top 10 list, tbh. Check it out in the mma forum soon.
What a night of total shit fights that was. Was that Donaire vs Narvaez? ld: Even Donaire said he was bored. pfp yo!!!!:Ramonza:
Rios Vs Urban Antelope? :: Surely you jest. That was a 1 sided beating really, not exactly a great fight. Kirkland was fun, but also too 1 sided to be a really good fight.
:: You envy me, don't you Irish? Perhaps, one day, you can enjoy some of life's pleasures like enjoying a sport.
Akira Yaegashi-Pornsawan Porpramook, baby! That and Marquez-Concepcion I are easily the best two fights of the year, with major separation between those two fights and the best of the rest. My dynamite dozen 1) Yaegashi-Porpramook 2) Marquez-Concepcion I 3) Delvin Rodriguez-Pawel Wolak I 4) Brandon Rios-Miguel Acosta 5) Antonio DeMarco-Jorge Linares 6) Victor Ortiz-Andre Berto I 7) Liam Walsh-Paul Appleby 8) Lamont Peterson-Amir Khan 9) Marcos Maidana-Erik Morales 10) James Kirkland-Alfredo Angulo 11) Edwin Rodriguez-Will Rosinsky 12) Orland Salido-Juan Manuel Lopez
Seems like a pretty down year. Here are the ones I rated highest, actually the only ones I gave ratings to, but they probably don't have much staying power: Jorge Silva ko8 Alvaro Robles Guido Pitto dq6 Nery Benitez "Benitez attacks ref, sucker punches Pitto, cries" billi godoy tud9 claudio abalos "tko then changes to injury; chairs, bottles thrown" juan carlos rodriguez ko hook 2 gustavo gonzalez "Gonzalez taunting Rodriguez" andy lee ko10 craig mcewan delvin rodriguez mdraw10 pawel wolak "ESPN2 rebroadcast this fight one week later"
