Mosley anywhere remotely CLOSE to his prime beats the ever living Christ outta Ginger.

It'd basically be a replay of what he did to Vargas in the rematch.

I agree with Whiskey, even now it wouldn't be a sure bet.

Shane looked pathetic Vs Manny but still, Alvarez. I mean really, Ginger Alvarez.

Shane is DONE at this point. I know, I know, people have been saying he's done for years. But this time he's REALLY done.

Alvarez would put the 2011 Mosley in a defensive shell, and win by pretty clear decision.

I think all the remaining talent Shane had went into the Margarito ass whuppin.

yes but you must consider that pacquiao is more or less shot, and he still dominated mosley.

You're probably right. He basically shot his load in that fight I guess, it was his last hurrah. He looked pretty tepid in his very next fight.

He probably just wouldn't really do anything, and lose a decision.

That's because Pacquiao is a god. Even a totally shot Pacquiao can dominate a slightly shot Mosley.

except he was never at his prime at 154. In fact, his one notable win - the Oscar rematch - was hardly a throwback performance.

I would honestly take Canelo in this fight. Certainly if the fight happened tomorrow.

I guess I can see where '03 Shane could work Canelo's body and eventually wear him down. But I really don't think much of any 154 lb version of Shane.

Alvarez is training on the same opiates and hydrogenated fats as Andy Lee is, but was Mosley still on the penis-pills when he beat Oscar the second time? I'm not sold on Alvarez, at all, anywhere near as much as I used to be. I think his lifestyle is all wrong.

Alvarez has dropped 2 rounds in his last 7 fights. I know I'm the only person who finds that interesting but if there's one common thread with guys who end up getting 'exposed' it's that they're dropping rounds all the way up til the eventual spanking they take, if you're paying attention. Lacy, Abraham, Hamed, even on a higher level like Tito, Mosley, Toney. The clues were there in fights where they lost 3, 4, 5, 6 rounds to inferior guys.

The possibility still remains that Alvarez is one of those uncommon guys who's just better than he looks.

And as Jake says, Mosley wasn't good at 154

    It's a fair statement.

Personally I think it's down to matchmaking and having a fairly consistent style. You know what to expect with Alvarez.

He's enough to overwhelm C level fighters like Matthew Hatton or shot to shit fighters like Cintron, but he has a ceiling.

He'll get busted up proper by the first A class fighter he faces.

BTW he lost at least 2 rounds to Gomez alone.

As I said before, I'll confidently pick Cotto to bash his face in if that fight happens.

Agreed on Mosley. Shane between 147 and 154 was exactly like Hatton between 140 and 147.
