Interesting contrasts here. Size and power against speed and conditioning. Youthful exuberance vs. experienced guile.

The one thing they share in common is each man would be by FAR the most dangerous foe they faced at LHW.

Moorer is too much everything for Calzaghe.

Calzaghe gets off the deck early to adjust and clinch a close UD

Too much chin, too much speed, too much workrate, too much stamina, too many skills?

    Up what?

    And how? And with what?

Not with his heart or his chin.

I think Calz would beat Moorer but MM's chin wouldn't be a factor. When is it for a Calzaghe opponent?

Add Moorer (even though he is the most overrated thing in history at 175- he never fought ANYONE) to the list of "would be hands-down Calzaghe's best opponent"

I wasn't thinking it would be a factor . Just that a "chin" (amongst other things ) could hardly be advertised as part of the "too-much-of-everything" package Moorer purportedly possessed.

Calzaghe should be embarrassed he didn't stop the corpse of Roy Jones.

    seriously

He also failed to stop Charles Brewer despite an endless barrage of clean slaps

when people try to say things like "good power" with regard to Calzaghe and his "who's that?" list of challengers, I laugh hard enough that I shake violently

Calzaghe 8-4 IMO, but Moorer drops him hard in the second round.

Moorer would be a live underdog.

I think Hopkins had more to be embarassed about against an even lesser corpse.

Hopkins was 327 years old. If he can still get a boner and tie his laces without sitting down he can stand proud

Since when did Calzaghe turn into Julian Jackson??? Moorer chin was not reliable but he has taken punches from hard hitting heavyweights..and has survive.

    Moorer by UD....9-3,,8-4 at best.

Moorer had heart for days, what are you talking about? And his chin would certainly be able to stand up to the best Calslappy has to offer.

This. What's the matter with you whiskey? Calzaghe was moving around like a young man against Roy, and couldn't even stop him.

If by "good power" it's meant if the guy hits you lots and lots of times it stings a bit i suppose he qualifies.

I suppose Malinaggi would then have "decent power".

Calzaghe hurt Jones bad. Opened his face up pretty good. That was the end of that fight- Joe obviously stood off after that. Don't all you moolies pretend otherwise- it was obvious at the time of the fight.

Moorer stops him.Jirov was stronger and more relentless. Moorer would win. I can't see Joe doing anything to keep Moorer off.

No way, we have seen Jones hurt bad a million times over the last 8 years. When he gets hurt bad, he basically lapses into a coma

Calzaghe was an average puncher at best

Calzaghe recovering from a knockdown (or two) to take a decision sounds about right to me.
