    I'm not Joe, but....

If you work criminal, thats as close to a 9-5 as you can get, unless you are in it big-time, probably barrister level {line getting blurred in IRELAND}. Free Legal Aid sorts do a 9-5.

If you work corporate, chances are you are 7-7 sort of thing. I got thru college doing night-shift security in some firms and people started to come in around 7am. Guys would still be there around 9pm.

EDIT: the line is getting blurred in Ireland. New legislation coming in soon.

As it happens, my next port of call if I go back to in-house would be in Intellectual Property law, because I work with motors and batteries on the side, its an area which might hold more interest for me.

If you do go into the law Hut- get into a branch that interests you.

Yeah the Emirates is not Galatasary or Besiktas for sure. I'm near sure that stadium design plays a part in success. Heaving foetid masses all down on the touchline calling you "Negro" is bound to get results sooner than beret-wearing folk in the nosebleed seats.

I'm not meaning to be especially argumentative here. I've tried to look at the report objectively and, while it does have weaknesses, I don't think the FA could have been expected to do much more in terms of evidence gathering.

You could say that, but I can't see anywhere how Evra failed to displace the burden of proof. Its basically one word versus another word, with the word "negro" being passed off to an unsuspecting public as heinous and venom-laden with bollox about "arm pinching" and "leg kicking" thrown in.

You cannot overcome a standard of proof such as the "BoP" where your argument has "weaknesses".

The case Evra had was supposedly watertight, and the more I look through it, the more I see that Evra was given bonus points for "being calm and collected". with no regard given to his history for making unfounded allegations.

If the past backgrounds of both parties were to be ignored then it appears that Suarez background got worked back into the mix regardless, which is demonstrably unfair. Kuyt and Commoli said that they had thought that was what Suarez said, but later recanted. Besides, it would perverse for Kuyt and Commoli, speaking on Suarez behalf, to have their word taken as counting against Suarez. Again, it seems the FA was happy to go to some length to put as negative a spin as possible on the honest confusion experienced in the immediate aftermath.

PS@ Chelsea, an accusation was made that Evra had been called an "immigrant" or words to that effect. This was flung out. What about the South Africa situation, in which Evra played a starring role? Bottom line, for me, the guy is a insecure midget, he'd say Mass if he thought it made him look better.

Cheers Irish. I didn't realise you were in law too, though it doesn't come as a surprise. Legal aid was my intention. I'll probably start a thread with some questions on another day, if that's OK.

So my options are 'a quiet one' with 4 friends I see every week or a warehouse party in the gorbals with a shower of nutters :crafty: Got a feelin' sweet like honey

Well I am going to bed in around an hour. I need to be back up soon to throw on my weighted rucksack and hit the road. The notion that this particular period in the time-space continuum requires a break in my routine does not hold any sway with me. If I was you I would plump for the quiet one with friends.

It's what i'd do if I were starting afresh. By the way, legal aid work is being decimated at the moment.

Not the greatest game between West Brom and Everton.

It's ok, I have sky here. Should be a better game between these two. Sunderland will give Citeh a right good game I think, but will fall short.

I had Everton down for the win, I knew the Owls luck had to turn. Morons on the BBC getting on the Steve Kean/Luis Suarez act with "Hodgson mal-treated by Liverpool fans" nonsense, which is par for the jingo course. Scharner, yeah,? Gave away the goal with his header and he was the guy Hodgson wanted to bring in at Anfield.

Only unpalatable thing about Everton winning {apart from if it is versus Liverpool} is the utter masturbation fest that breaks out in honor of Sir "Underrated" Moyes.

West Brom deserved fuck all from that and Scharners header back across the goal was pure muck. Broke every rule of defending 101.

West Brom are struggling at home. This is the fifth time now they have failed to score at the Hawthorns.

Don't think he will start, good chance he will be slung on if there is still something in it for Liverpool. Bellamy will start and Kuyt too.

Did I just hear the SKY commentator say that O'Shea and Brown will try hard today for Sunderland to make up for what happened to United yesterday?

Shows you how far the Fergie nonsense goes.

Shite game, especially City, no ideas really for the wall of players in front of them, Johnson has been best for City but the game is crying out for Silva and Aguero.

Yeah and that is two they've missed. I really did figure City would have trouble scoring and I figured right. That Sunderland have threatened to win it it more impressive again but that is O'Neill all over anyways. Dzeko has been shit. Mancini has done a Fergie on it by leaving Balotelli out. That said, if City can get a point away from home to a rejuvenated Sunderland, that sure as hell beats losing to Blackburn. At home. On their managers birthday.:pointlaugh::pointlaugh:
