I'm arsed. No need for mad statistical analysis, Everton are strapped, Bolton are fighting for their lives, there was an insane gale blowing which made things hard for both sides. As is often the case, Howards freak goal aside, extreme weather usually harms the form side more than the out-of-form side. At least Moyes, unlike Fergie, didn't pull the old Ray Robinson gag about it being hot for him only. Apparently, where Demba Ba comes from, they play in Southern Ocean-esque winds all the time :wack:
We've still got to play Wigan at home, Blackburn away and Bolton away. Tension is mounting at this end.
Being brutally honest, come what may between LFC and QPR.....I'd be disappointed if QPR went down. Some of my reasons are selfish and very subjective, a la Warnock giving Suarez a good shout-out when nobody else was. The truth of the matter is that Bolton have been, largely, pish. Wolves, year in year out offer fuck all bar the odd very good win, last year over Liverpool and I think United too. Apart from that its the same Dogs'O'War with Mick Jolly Chops McCarthy. Teams like Wigan, QPR, Swansea and Norwich are actually trying to play football. Even in the 1-4 defeat by Sunderland, Wigan were passing, probing, playing. Sunderland, under Bruce, not only deserved to get fucked on but were actually going that way. Stoke the same. I don't care how fucking "Successful" Stoke are or "How good a job Tony Has done" ...they've got the worst fans, the worst style and they constantly fiddle with the pitch. Fucking throw ins, on a truncated field, as an actual tactic or strategy, and yet EVERY year, for all of their vaunted "grit", they managed to get bashed 7-0 or 5-0. Wolves and Stoke. Off ye pop.
I can guarantee you that Tank Abbots most recent racially ill-advised fuck up was derived from her getting all buoyed by the recent bloodletting over the "Suarez Affair". Unfortunately, poor Diane charged on too far ahead of the infantry, got isolated and had to listen too Downsyndrome Boy tell her to apologize or fuck off. 5-1. Put that in your FA Cup Weekend Pipe and smoke it, NewsMedia.:shit: :egypt::egypt:
I truly believe we'll bring in quality and will stay up. We have players who want to play week in week out and want to do well. Keep the faith R's fans. Regarding Wolves, we spoke before about their chairman not spending and not wanting to improve, that's why they'll always be around the relegation zone or going down, until they start investing in players and aiming to move up the table. They had some good results last season against the "top 4" teams. They beat Liverpool 1-0 at Anfield, beat Chelsea 1-0 at Molineux and beat Man Utd 2-1 at home.
Morgan, is it? He was at Liverpool and failed in takeover of his own, at the time we were relieved but then......it all went very very Pete Tong.
Steve Morgan, yeah. Maybe we're being too harsh on him. He has a point when it comes to introducing salary caps to football. He continues to believe in homegrown talent - investing wisely, rather than splashing out. "Wolves’ most recent accounts revealed a £9 million profit on £61 million turnover, including £39 million from broadcast revenue, a reminder of the vital importance of staying up". - from this link http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...-cap-as-Premier-League-debt-crisis-grows.html
I don't think clubs could compete at the highest level, without going into debt. In the long run, financially, it's not good for clubs to overspend on players, but to compete at that level, you have to.
Fat Mike would disagree. Newcastle turned a nice little profit for him last year and will do so again. What are we at the moment? 3 points of a CL place or something ridiculous? MTF
Oh, and QPR won't go down. I'd like them to simply because Warnock was last year exposed as a nasty little hypocrite (which was a shame because I used to rather like his madness) but I'd be sad for Jimmy and Slice if they got relegated. More pertinently, there are at least three (Wigan, Blackburn, Bolton) worse teams. If you actually bought a half decent centre-forward to convert some of those chances, you'll end up in comfortable mid-table. MTF
Do you know how much profit you made last year? It's incredible how well you've done so far this season. Fair play to Pardew. I wonder how you'll cope with Ba being away at the African Nations Cup..... Oh and Ba will miss the huge game on the 15th of this month...Newcastle United vs Queens Park Rangers. Live on sky tv you know.
Newcastles top 4 ambitions are well on track- surprise package of the year by a mile. Be a pity to see Fat Mike cash in, mind.
I understand how it looked to those with no vested interest in the proceedings but one of the biggest mistakes people make about the whole Faurlin saga was that it was identical to the Tevez situation. It wasn't, the FA fucked up, we did too but unintentionally and we didn't commit any offences that were punishable by points deductions.
No- he never discloses. We aren't a PLC or anything now, so he doesn't have to. However, some cheeky scamp kindly went through the maths on these things and worked out he made just over nine million profit. I'll not be watching on Sky. I'll be at the match I think MTF
Massive surprise. Mike has turned a net profit in each of the last five transfer windows and in the summer sold our three best players (Nolan, Barton and Jose) to go with Carroll in January. The big shock is that all of the direct replacements (except R,. Taylor, who is gash) are far better and cost next to nothing: swapping Ba for Carroll and Nolan for Cabaye is starting to look like the biggest piece of footballing genius in years. It won't last, though, because Tiote is for the off and Collocini is looking like joining your mob. One step forward, two back... MTF
Aye, but only to make sure Ba and Tiote come back in one piece. I'll be supporting however is playing Senegal and the Ivory Coast. MTF
When a man makes what he declares a moral stand, he has to be whiter than white himself. The law has a maxim which sums this up well I think: 'those who come to equity must come with clean hands'. Warnock's hands are very dirty. I liked what Warnock did re: West Ham/Tevez. He did what was right and I thought West Ham should have been relegated and Sheffield Utd reinstated. But you were lucky not to lose points. Very lucky. MTF
I always like watching the North African sides when I bother watching the Cup of Nations. They usually have the best technique and skill, plus most of them are hungry to prove themselves and aren't ruined yet by success outside Africa. The look on Drogbas face when Egypt raped the Ivory Coast 4-1 last time was awesome.
It is only right and proper that the Love-Child of Phil Thompson's Dirty Weekend in Buenos Aires should want to play for Liverpool.
I wonder what incidences might occur this time round. Remember what happened with the Togo team back in 2010? Egypt will be favourites. They won in 2010 and have won it seven times altogether since the tournament was founded back in 1957. They may have won the Africa cup of nations seven times, but Egypt have only qualified for two World Cups.
I know how it looks, but we didn't deserve any points deductions because we hadn't commited any serious offences. The media just liked to stir shit up, and Warnock couldn't comment at the time as the case was ongoing.
When that was hanging over our heads, we couldn't truly celebrate winning the title until we knew for sure that we were not getting points deducted. It was a horrible feeling.
Yeah it's weird, they smash it at the ACON but always fuck up in World Cup qualifying. Although the Algeria playoff was a bit of a farce
