I just checked and Egypt + Nigeria have failed to qualify for this year's tournament. Ivory Coast are favourites, with Ghana and Senegal second & third favs.
Jordan Rhodes scored five in Huddersfield's 6-0 away win at Wycombe last night. Looks like a good little player.
Liverpool to investigate "abuse" aimed at Tom Adeyemi... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/16452241.stm
More nonsense. I guess Liverpool are supposed to vet every person who comes in the gates, whether they are from Liverpool or not. Poor Tom. His X-Factor moment, he made the most of it. No-name footballer who will now bring out a book. This, of course, is assuming anything even happened. Merseyside Police say nobody has been arrested for anything racial, not that this has stopped the papers. Oh well, Rooney causing trouble, United facing into a big game, and Andy Carroll on the score-sheet, let's get a story going elsewhere. People are the same idiots they have always been. I'm beginning to wonder if the Phone-hacking scandal taught people any lasting lessons. Too bad Tank Abott ruined the symmetry with her own racial outbursts and feel the wrath of downer boy.
I feel for the kid though. He was visibly very upset at what happened. The thing is, you get these dickheads who go to games week in week out and hurl abuse at players - it's expected, but what should not be tolerated is racist abuse towards players. There's just no need for it.
We don't even know if it was racial. In fact, so far, the indications are that it is not. We have ONE person, so far unidentified, unnamed, no details, who says he heard "Black Bastard", then the rest is speculation and hearsay and reptititious tweets. As for the player himself, he had already given away the penalty, and the team were then 3-1 down and going out. Its possible somebody said something that pushed him over the edge, like "Manc Bastard" but the fact that he was half-black and its Liverpool oOOOOooooh let's reach a conclusion real fast. In the meantime, "Anton Ferdinand, You Know What You Are", has slipped quietly under the collective radar.
:giggle: You could very well be right. There may not have been any racial comment(s) made towards Adeyemi. This may just come to nothing too. In general, racial abuse towards players is just not on. Oh, John Terry is a right cunt and is guilty as hell. Utter nonsense that he has not been banned for 28 games :giggle:
Yeah, I gave up on it and turned the stream off. Fuck Mick McCarthy. Not much of Birmingham fan either. As for Terry, the same people who are blasting Suarez and this Adeyemi thing are the same people trying to cover for Chelsea and Terry.
Irish, I think you are way off the mark on this one. I watched the game last night and what ever went on ruined the game for me.. Of course we do not know for sure what happened, however you can tell a lot from the players reaction evra the dirt bag didn't react like that.. I'll go out on a limb here an say that guy was racial abused by some dick head in the crowd. If that turns out to be true, lfc should track him down and ban him Great goal from Carroll..
How am I way off the mark? My "Mark" is that we don't know what happened and that until we do, all of this shit is conjecture and spin and nonsense. Ironically, we are on the same page, with one difference being that I have not made my mind up yet. Agreed. Most people know Evra lied. And the sight of him with his girls voice on youtube saying "nagger" is really telling. He's a liar. Simply not how it works mate. Absolutely. But only after first establishing his name, address, place of birth and what pattern, if any, he has of attending Liverpool games. Yep. He just pulled on it. Its when he has time to think, like 3 minutes later, that he messes up.
Jeff Stelling, Matt Le Tissier, Paul Merson, Phil Thompson and Charlie Nicholas all agree that Barton's sending off was "ridiculous". Thank you lads.
Spin does not influence my view, to be honest I don't read that many articles on football and I have not read anything on this issue. My take on this is directly from what I saw on live tv.. Of course we need to investigate, find the full facts but at this early stage that is my opinion Like I said you can tell alot by initial reactions and that kid was distraught. It's not something I like I see at anfield. If they find that guy and figure what seat he was sitting on, his attendance could be analysed
Yes, I agree, but what was there to be deduced from what we saw on Live TV. I immediately downloaded the second half, and really saw very little hard evidence. Not to say I didn't see evidence that something had happened. I didn't see any evidence of what had happened. In fact, he appears to run over to a part of the crowd on the other side of the "Evil People in the Suarez T-Shirts". Yet the conventional wisdom is that these three amigos {that means friend, in Spanish, but I'll try not to use it again ::} , encouraged by Kenny, {I mean....} shouted "Black Bastard" at the guy......but there are witnesses now presenting themselves as that all they heard were the words "Manc Bastard"
Now Stan "Hit Her" More says he was abused on...wait for it...twitter. He has the police looking into it. Apparently the person is being investigated for "racially aggregated harrassment". "Aggregated" was the word used on the BBC report. Probably changed it by now. ::
http://www.rte.ie/sport/soccer/2012/0104/dunphy_mancity_av.html Just thought I would throw this out, TKO. I understand you don't "get involved" but I think RTE did badly throughout this thing, but this shit takes the biscuit. I knew always that Dunphy was gutless slime. "Liverpool are showing tolerance for racism" He's also trying to worm out of his prediction that "United would win nothing".... As I say, I understand you don't follow the media circus, but RTE is still RTE, and should be followed if for no other reason than to subject them to some scrutiny.
