For this thread, I'll list a fighter, and the poster below me will state whether he is overrated or underrated, and then he''ll list a fighter, then the poster below him states whether he's overrated or underrated, etc.

Pavlik is under-rated at this point. His future status is in doubt due to his alcoholism. But based on what he's done in the ring, he's been under-rated.

Two losses to two p4p fighters, one of which he was very competitive against, and the lack of any recent meaningful wins have led people to underestimate him.

 

Slightly underrated, perhaps.

That's the price you pay when you fight a bunch of meaningless fights. He may be underrated, but justifiably so. I guess it comes down to the purpose and meaning of the terms, underrated and overrated.

 

Tough one. I'd say he's rated about right, although you could argue he's slightly underrated.
