AMIR KHAN HAS SPOKEN!!!! WHO DARES TO NOT LAUGH????

Apologies for the atrocious sentence construction, the article was thrown together by a tea-maker at the BBC.
    http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/boxing/16646592.stm

Amir Khan believes the integrity of boxing was harmed by the controversy over his loss to Lamont Peterson.

Khan, 25, is awaiting the result of Peterson's appeal against the WBA's decision to order a rematch.

He told BBC Sport: "A lot of young fighters from England want to go to America. If they get cheated the way I got cheated, they are going to think twice about going to America."

Mustafa Ameen, the so-called "Mystery Man", is considering suing Khan.

Khan conceded the IBF title to Peterson after withdrawing his appeal over the result but he is still contesting the judgement with the WBA.

Ameen was at the centre of the controversy after he appeared to interfere with the scoring by WBA supervisor Michael Welsh during the fight.

But he told BBC Sport in an exclusive interview that he was correcting errors made by Welsh, who had said he was unwell.

Khan refused to believe Ameen's version of events, adding: "I don't accept that. How much help do you need? Counting scorecards.

"Michael Welsh is a chartered accountant. I mean he's not going to find it hard, even if he is ill, to count numbers.

"We don't know the whole story because Michael Welsh was not at the hearing.

"That was the reason we didn't go because it would have been a one-sided story.

"But hopefully in the next week or so we should find out exactly what's going to happen.

"We want them [the WBA and Welsh] to come out and clear this up because this story is getting a little boring now.

"We just want to know the truth and if they don't come out then I'm just going to move on."

Ameen has demanded an apology from Khan and says he will give his camp an opportunity to retract their statements.

He told BBC Sport: "I'll come to London. My initial thought is that I'll have two separate teams to go after Golden Boy in the US and one to go after Amir Khan in the UK.

"They can fix what they have done and then this can go away. In the heat of the moment, people say things. I want to give them the opportunity to take it back."

Ameen said that the WBA had not been in contact with him yet to attend the upcoming Peterson appeal but he urged Welsh to speak out.

He said: "I'm at the centre of this storm with Mr Welsh. The WBA should want to interrogate me and expose me for the liar that they claim I am.

"Let Mr Welsh respond. He's a certified public accountant; he has to be a man of great integrity.

"I can't imagine Mr Welsh fabricating anything.

    ***********

Khan really is full of shit. Referee's stopping fights at opportune moments {especially the Barrera fight, also the McCloskey fight} and this moron is talking about the "Integrity" of the sport? Clown.

Beileve it or not I would root for Floyd to smash and humiliate Trash Khan. I bet most of the Floyd haters on this site would too.

First of all boxing has no integrity. Secondly if Khan actually was "robbed" i think that says something more in the sport's favor than it does against it.

Khan has the BBC, the Guardian Newspaper and Golden Boy and their affiliates all on-board. Thats a lot of coverage, and they've all chipped in to do their bit. Only a matter of time I feel before Peterson is stripped down to the bare bones on this one.

    fuck ya'll.

What is going on in here is Khan hate.

Nothing he said in the OP is wrong.

Ameen was correcting scoring errors made by a judge because the judge was ill? Seriously, I don't give a fuck if you like Khan or not, but acting like he doesn't have a point is crazy. How can you read that and not know that something fishy was going on?

I hope Ameen sues Khan. Khan's done nothing but bitch & moan, has pointed fingers at others, has disregarded Peterson's achievements in winning the fight and blamed others on a fight he lost inside the ring. He's a real childish cunt.

This is my main concern- its as if Peterson never landed a punch all night. Khan got battered for stretches.

I've tried to avoid all this shit with Khan lately, but I was listening to sky sports news earlier and Ameen was on there. Khan's been slagging him off on the web and on his personal facebook page. WHO THE FUCK DOES KHAN THINK HE IS?! That's going beyond the line of respect. Khan should be sued. There's a way to go about your business and ways to present yourself in a professional manner and Khan has not done this.

He's a guy who was in the ring fighting his ass off. Who the fuck does Ameen thing he is? A guy who was in a place he wasn't supposed to be in doing things he wasn't supposed to be doing even if they were what he said he was doing when it sure as hell makes more sense that he was doing the things Khan is implying he might have been doing?

    How's that for a sentence? : )

Mike. At the end of the day, Khan lost the fight inside the ring. It was close to some, but the majority of viewers thought Peterson won. Of course he won, he fought the fight of his life. He had Khan running for dear life. He took Khan's strengths away from him and fought his type of fight. Khan has been seeking answers to why he lost the fight outside of the ring, but needs to come to terms that he lost the fight in the ring, where it matters most.

Khan knows he has people in the press, paid or not, who are prepared to toe the line for him. That counts for a lot, it gives Khan breathing space, and allows him to sound off. He's basically linking the fumes of controversy regarding the refereeing "performance" and the Ameen factor together, to give a distorted impression of some grand, overbearing controversy when in fact there is none at all. In the interim, the fact that Khan got sucked into a war with a limited guy in Peterson is forgotten and conveniently swept under the mat.

Next we'll see Khan get humiliated by Floyd. Khan will accuse Floyd of being on PEDS and will demand that Floyd be stripped of all his belts and those belts be given to him.

The integrity of boxing has been damaged because this guy lost a split decision?

    What a load of shit

For fuck's sake, it was a close fight, even if he gets those points back, you could still argue he lost the fight.

Frankly, I don't think he deserves the points back just because referees in recent years have allowed guys like him to completely avoid exchanges via illegal tactics

I don't know that the majority thought that Peterson won? I think the majority thought that Khan won even with the deductions, but not by so much that it was a robbery or anything. Khan landed more in more rounds, for sure.

I think Khan's bitching has been more about losing because of the point deductions and whatever the hell Ameen was doing since the scorecard had been changed. I haven't seen Khan say anything bad about Peterson's performance, I don't think.

There are some top-level fighters who don't let close losses bother them, but I think they are the exception. Most of these guys train way too hard to let a perceived screw job slip away into the past, especially one of this type.

Edit: However, I don't think a poll would show that most thought Khan won even with the point deductions now. Khan has a hate parade as long as any in quite some time. I am just going by my recollection of initial posts.

I seem to remember most people seeing it as a "could go either way" fight and most were prefacing it with "even without the deductions"

One judge had it 114-111 KHAN (that is WITH deductions)

That is the most scandalous nonsense in this whole thing... An 8-4 fight in favor of Khan??? That is beyond fucked

He throws his punches in such a strange way. He couldn't deal with his opponents speed. Wasn't he a firm favourite to win? Burns would fuck him up with ease.
