Most will CRINGE @ the Thought, but REED Actually Likes this Bout (as a NON PPV Telecast, that Is)...

There's a Degree of PRESSURE on BHop this Time Out, to PROVE that he Didn't Take the Easy Way Out, as Dawson has Suggested...AND Dawson is STILL Under the Same Pressure of Getting his Career BACK on Track, just like he was the 1st Time Out...

Short of Moving Down to 168, BHop is Dawson's BEST Chance of Pocketing a MEANINGFUL Win w/Name Recognition Attached...Meanwhile, Bernard's Record in RE's is Almost IMPECCABLE...

The Fight ITSELF will Probably Suck, but it NEEDS to Happen, in REED's Opinion...

Yeah, I feel the same way. One of those bouts that will be hard on the eyes, but I do care about the result.

Admittedly, the Fight IS NOT PPV Worthy...EXCLUDING BHop & Dawson's Closest Friends, Family and HARDCORE Fans, this Shit would Generate about 53 PPV Buys...

    I hope Dawson retires him

The idea that I might feel this way about Bernard Hopkins would have been laughable 11 or 12 years ago

But he went from being a fighter to being a guy who does everything in his power to slow fights to an unwatchable crawl.

For hockey fans: Bernard went from being the 1989 Calgary Flames to being the 1995 New Jersey Devils

    If its ppv, wont watch.

Dawson is garbage anyway, and Hopkins should not be fighting anymore.

Hopkins/Pascal bouts were fun. I enjoyed his fights with Tarver and Pavlik too. But then you have the abominations vs. Calzaghe and Jones and they kind of even out.

I have a different take on the rematch because I was there. It was a great crowd... perhaps I enjoyed the event more than the fight.

Don't you love the way Calzaghe gets roped into Bernards/Cortez horse-shit

Reed is right- this will do NO PPV.

Thankfully, Boxnation will televise it, which means plenty of free streams, so nobody feels the need to spend $ on this shite, and Oscar loses his blouse. Again.

It's not a PPV. Too bad, I'd rather it was on PPV and HBO used cash on better fights.

God I hate Doorson, boring, overrated turd of the boxing world. Don't like Nard much either these days, but I hope Nard schools him.

Poor take. If it was on PPV, budget dollars (probably a fair chunk) are going into this fight, when they could be going toward cheaper more entertaining bouts.

Isn't this new regime stuck with a Hopkins contract though? You know how that works?

HBO should use the cash to buy out Hopkins contract and make the fight we all might pay to see, Dawson vs Pascal II.

Good point. This same cash paying for these 2 boring arseholes could be spent on much better fights.

that could be true. thats why the commission fucked the fans over by changing that loss to a no contest. im sure a loss would have voided the rest of his deal with hbo

This fight is as meaningless as Hopkins entire career. Hopkins is not an all time great, but a 60 year old Hopkins should beat Chad Dawson. Like all but maybe 3 or 4 fighters today, Dawkins is the best of a bad lot. The kid can't fight at all and the fact that he is admittedly one of the best just shows that this sport is on life support. Dawkins in the 80's or even early 90's would be a gatekeeper at best. He can't fight for shit and he is dumber than shit in and out of the ring. The guy can't even speak for zEUS' SAKE.

free ike lacks consistency. it seems he has turned to drugs/alcohol to cope with his shitty life. chad dawson will whip bernard hopkins ass if the fight doesnt end early in dubious fashion. and bernard hopkins is a boxing legend, who would have succeeded in any era

people are not fooled with hopkins' act anymore. mayorga does the same played out act but at least he is entertaining to watch in the ring. bernards fighting style is to do everything to avoid a fight.

    Clearly.

It's not a criticism of you. Hopkins has been making fights pretty boring for years now.

Hopkins had a decent workrate in that fight. It wasn't a terrible fight.
