hahaha...toe the line. You act as if these expenses aren't self-induced and beneficial to the UFC. Otoh, they could act as promoters and take real risks and have real competitors and pay out far more to the fighters even though they are taking more risks. Your point is illogical when you consider that the reason they have all of these extra 'expenses' is because they have raped the piss out of their fighters in order to be able to afford them all. Promoters need to do many of these same things without having the guaranteed revenue that the UFC does, without having the monopoly the UFC does, without having slaves to take advantage of. Post the poll and see if everyone agrees without you about these terrible expenses. Shit, I almost feel sorry for the UFC after reading everything they are up against. Poor guys.
Yes, and you pointed it out. Well done.. I guess I was owned........ It is kind of telling as to how much you hate MMA and/or me in order for you to side with Mike. And even more telling is that I know you are smart enough to know that Mike is just reactionary and not really fact-based. I know we've had our differences but seriously the jokes about Canada were in jest. I love Michael J. Fox, snow, bacon and ugly women.
It appears you're in a little more serious mood than I am today Trpl. Don't mind me. I'd never defend that chode mikE. I like you way more. :kidcool:
I actually thought my last line was pretty damn funny. Sure, it won't make it's way into Kaliber's stand-up act, but funny anyway.
be dense if you want. The UFC's model is/was pretty set. An average ppv a month = 400-500 buys + a lot more with certain fighters. Now what they are doing is watering down their product so much that the ppv numbers have gone down..and will go down...but the overall pool of revenue will still grow. This will happen until the market gets sick of them. Which may happen a lot sooner than later, but will definitely happen if they continue to have a freakin event every week like they have been doing. This is all a side point, however. Let's stick to the main point..fighter pay...and you refuse to acknowledge all of the information that is facts and is concrete evidence that they are underpaid. 850,000 buys...and less pay than a boxer who brought in 600,000 buys...a lot less. ....don't worry, that's only 250,000 * $40 or $10,000,000 extra that the poor UFC has to find something to do with.
I thought you said GSP and Cotto made the same thing? What did I miss? Didn't you say both made $5 million? :scratcher: Now you're saying GSP made "a lot less".. Which is it?
Cotto made $5,000,000 + a % of the ppv sales. How much of a %? Not clear, but it was more of a % than Antonio Margarito. GSP, otoh, claims he makes $4-$5 million per fight and that apparently includes his sponsorship money and not just UFC money. And Margarito made $2.5M + a percentage. Find me a GSP opponent who's made that kind of money. (oh yeah..wahhhh...we don't know) The fact is..it doesn't matter to you. You suck the UFC, make ridiculous excuses, your twin Anthony claims I lost the debate long ago and neither of you put up a poll to show how convincing you've been.
It's funny cause Cotto's PPV was 54.95 with 600k buys and that equals 33mil UFC 124 was 44.95 with 800k buys for 36mil. But 5mil for GSP is ridiculous. Seriously mike. just stop
hahaha...this is supposed to be a crucial point in the discussion? Put up a poll as suggested before. You'll have 2, maybe three (if tfk is still around) people who say that the UFC pays its fighters fairly or who bail out and say 'we don't have enough information'. The vast majority will say that the UFC fucks its fighters based on everything we know.
Cotto vs Margarito (north of $3 million gate) http://www.badlefthook.com/2011/12/...ob-arum-boxing-live-gates-mayweather-pacquiao ufc 124 The live gate of $4.586 million http://mmaweekly.com/ufc-124-attendance-record-set-gate-pulls-in-over-4-8-million what you are failing to account for is Margarito's share of $2.5 million + a percentage. The numbers cited in an earlier cite indicated that boxing pays out about 70+ % of its revenue and the UFC pays out <30% of its revenue. Put up a poll. Quit being a chicken shit. I don't post at sherdog. Or will Dana cut you off if you do anything that could be perceived as 'negative' against the UFC? Seriously, your loyalty is curious and undeserved. I stick up for sanctioning bodies, but I have to qualify (often) what I stick up for about them because they are flawed in many ways...it isn't some blind allegiance, devoid of any consideration like you guys show the UFC. It pisses people off, but it is far different than what you guys are doing. Far different.
And the UFC has more expenses because it's a private company with over hundreds of employees. Anyone with a brain can see the difference. Honestly, Im close to closing this fucking thread because we arent going anywhere. You fail understand the basics of running a company.
You've made that point and I've countered it. Put up a poll and see how convincing you've been or close the thread and be a bitch. You were the one who claimed that my side is wrong re UFC pay. I asked you to put up a poll and prove it. You won't, and even claim that it is because this forum is for 'mma discussion'. hahaha..whatever
Why do you care if I slam the UFC on this issue? What's in it for you? I compliment the UFC and Dana on plenty of things. I watch the UFC all the time. I really like mma. You are left with ad hominem attacks because your arguments on this issue are weak. And calling them weak is giving them more credit than they deserve.
that bullshit excuse was an option in the proposed poll. If people buy that, then they can vote for that option. Put up the poll and let's see how convincing you've been. It sure as hell isn't like we've both had enough time to make our points.
You watch boxing all the time too and you've proven time and time again you have no clue what the fuck you are talking about.
hahaha...oh no...another ad hominem attack. fucking pathetic, man. Put up a poll and quit being a bitch about this.
This is funny. I'm actually not even making an argument. I'm saying I don't have enough information to make an argument. Neither do you but you jut aren't smart enough to realize it.
I'm still waiting on Mike to tell us about this "guaranteed revenue" the UFC has. I thought PPV revenue was based on people buying it... Is this not true? When the UFC has a PPV that bombs, they still get guaranteed revenue? LOL.....This is honestly like debating art history with Stevie Wonder.
Could someone enlighten me on how GSP earns 5 million per fight if his reported earnings are 10% of that per fight?
