Overlooked performances

Pitt has drastically improved as an actor since his career began in the 90s, so has Leo DiCaprio.

 

DiCaprio has been a strong actor since he was a kid. He got a lot of backlash because of "Titanic" and a couple roles he was miscast in shortly after that............but for the most part he's been solid.

Pitt, you're definitely right about.

 

DiCaprio was terrible in Gangs of New York as well, imo. Though I guess he was good in What's Eating Gilbert Grape

 

That was the one I was thinking of as far as being "miscast" in.

Before that he was very good in a lot of roles.

 

like all historical pictures, GONY failed on epic scale

the casting of an Italian (DiCaprio) and a Spaniard (Diaz) in their respective roles was absurd on top of the fact that the picture was a massive, long-winded fabrication

 

Pitt did a good job in "A River Runs Through It"

 

I couldn't get into that movie, wound up turning it off after 30 minutes, but the acting seemed fine

Agreed completely. DiCaprio has suffered from a couple of miscasts but the talent and skill has always been there

 

I'm a DiCaprio fan, he's a very good actor. His Saffer accent is fucking shite though.

 

Pitt is actually a very good actor. Never understood why he gets a bad rep.

He's better than Cruise by about 10 miles.

 

DiCaprio is awful. I had to switch Inception off after 10/15 minutes, it was like a joke.

 

Yeah, I didnt like Dicaprio much in Inception.

He did a very good job in J.Edgar though...... too bad the movie fuckin sucked.

 

To be fair, DiCaprio has seemed kind of OK to me at times, when he was younger.

Inception was unbelievably bad, I thought he was truly awful, like a joke performance. He looks kind of ridiculous too now, in that man boy way. Like a cross between a kid and a 40 year old.

 

Pitt's just Pitt in every film. And not even the kinda one-trick that's believable in a wide range like nicholson

 

Inception is a good movie. However, its not rewatchable IMO.

I tried to watch it a second time a few weeks ago, and felt tempted to slit my wrists.

It's a retarded film. A "clever" film for stupid people.

I almost always give films a chance, but it was just too fucking bad. Corny, cheesy, up it's own arse, with bad acting.

 

And I can't say I'm surprised that someone who thinks Pitt is better than the main girl in Basterds likes Inception ::

For the most part, sure.

Still his characters in "Burn after Reading" and "Troy" for example were VERY different.

 

Agreed. One of the best new American movies I've seen in a long time.
