I love this series of movies and I rate Jeremy Renner, big-time...but can he follow Matt Damon?

Loved these movies.

 

I love the Bourne movies.

Will definitely see this.

Damon was great as Bourne.

 

Damon isn't in this new one (unless he has some cameo somewhere, but I doubt it) :dunno:

So the new guy will play Jason Bourne ? He will pretend to be the same guy? That'd be stupid. I hope they at least make it where he's his brother or something tha way they can still keep calling it Bourne and then when Matt Damon comes back for the fith movie they can fight against each other.

 

Adding Ed Norton to the cast can't hurt.

Should be worth watching.

Really not a big fan of the Bourne films. A couple were okay but their replay value is for shit. I'm planning on skipping this one altogether.

 

No, the new character is called Kenneth Gidson / Aaron Cross...even though Jason Bourne is actually in the novel! :scratcher:

I am with you. The Bourne films are okay for one time viewing, but have zero repeat value. I'm also skipping this one unless it goes straight to Netflix and I am extremely bored. And yes, Jeremy Renner is way overrated. People talk about him like if he is some sort second coming of Brando or DeNiro, which he is not. The fact that he will play Hawkeye in The Avenger movies really turned me off for real. Edward Norton, a fine actor,has done shitty roles lately, so I am not a bit thrilled about this uneeded "Bourne" movie without Bourne (Damon). The last one pretty much closed the book for the entire franchise, so this one is really just a cash-in, milking the cow to the last drop scheme by the studio.

 

It's a series of books. The story continues beyond Ultimatum.

The Bourne Betrayal, The Bourne Sanction, The Bourne Deception, The Bourne Objective, and The Bourne Dominion.

 

jeremy renner is awesome. i thought he was the baddest character in SWAT although he wasnt in it that long. he was also the only authentic badass in 'the town' along w/ that old british dude who died last year.

 

I like him.
I th9ught he was great in 'The Hurt Locker'...and of course, when you get that kind of break, you can sign up to do all these action-shit movies: 'Thor', 'The Avengers', 'Mission Impossible 4', 'Bourne', etc

 

Going to watch this tonight - anyone seen it yet? :dunno:

 

I like Renner too, obviously he's not the next Deniro or Pachino but then who is? Hell we can't even find the next Stallone or Schwarzenegger, all we get are B level actors masquareding as top guys and in case nobody noticed most of the best actors right now seem to be from Australia or England.

 

It was a good movie.
I was expecting failure but it delivered. The action-fanboys' won't get anything from until the 2nd hour, but its interesting to see how all the different black ops programs are created and maintatined.

Renner, I'm not sure about - he was acceptable but not solid like Damon.
He comes across a bit 'desperate' in moments...

8/10.

 

To make it seem like Renner isn't in Damon's league is kind of a dis to Renner. Damon is a pretty average actor himself and I honestly see them on the same level. Let's not confuse Damons being in great movies with being a great actor.

Checked this out last night. Good movie. Norton is the man.

 

renner's had a really good run, excellent in hurt locker, MI4, avengers

The Town was his best perf. imo.

This Bourne movie was pretty good, but I was bored by the final action sequence.
