Say Ortiz pulls out and Marquez jumps in on June... who wins and why?

Will Marquez be on the same gear he was for the Pac fight?

He hasn't gotten any younger in the meantime.

If Berto insists on tests.....then I can see Berto being big enough, fresh enough and fast enough to be OK.

JMM wins handily because Berto sucks. Berto's a brawler who doesn't know the first thing about boxing, and doesn't seem too intent on learning. To think Berto's just going to go in and beat an all time great counter puncher off of youth is ridiculous. Boxing is a skills game and Berto is clearly lacking in that department.

By the way I see the same thing happening if JMM were to fight Ortiz although I give Ortiz a bit more of a shot due to slightly better skills and height than Berto.

Still can't see it trumping superior skills. The youth and size difference isn't big enough, especially when JMM proved he can hang tough with Pacquiao. Do you really see Berto offering up a stronger offense then Pacquiao's?

Berto is absolutely horrible and I can't believe people give him a shot at beating JMM. It's laughable. Hell, Juan Diaz would have probably beaten Berto.

I'm really surprised so many people are picking Berto. Marquez is so much better it isn't even funny.

    Juiced Marquez would win clearly.

Berto lost to Ortiz ffs, he is nothing at this level. Who has he ever beaten?

A gulf in talent and skill overcomes a healthy size difference.

Without the gear, Marquez laboured the point against Katsidis, who was really out-classed by the average but game Ricky Burns soon after. In fact, in the two fights vs Guerrero and Burns, Katsidis might have won four, five rounds.

If Marquez juices up and allows it to recuperate his body some, then yeah, I give him a chance.

Bottom line is, we have all seen it before- dumb, fresh guy with some athleticism beats older, more experienced, more talented guy.

If it doesn't happen in the Berto fight, then its only a question of time.

Are there people who actually doubt JMM was on something in his last fight?

Yeah, if he's on that shit, he will win

This is a post from another forum...

No. With the exception of the first round of their first fight, JMM has always looked good against Pacquiao. His body didn't look as good in his fight with Floyd because it was his first bout above 135lbs. Nacho's methods didn't properly prepare him for the big jump up in weight. The second time around he looked better because he learned from previous mistakes, hired a pro strength and conditioning coach, and emphasized more weight training. In the end, he complied with and passed all post-fight tests.

It's not like he did significantly better in the third fight. Lone knockdown aside, I thought he faired equally as well if not better in the 2nd fight.

I should point out this fellow called me a racist because I said the fight Pacquiao/Marquez fight could have gone either way.

So you give JMM every benefit of the doubt but think that Pac is on something?

berto is working with victory conte now. its not as if his hair will be lacking in fullness or shininess when and if such a bout would occur.

I'm sure he will be. But since he's already added the mass, if he's kept it in a healthy fashion, he probably won't even need it

I would have to see Berto's thick, shiny hair for myself.

My money is on Juan having the thicker, shinier hair with Angel's special brew.

Berto by Decision or late stoppage...too big and too young.

Is Berto better than Baby bull Diaz? and Katsidis? Maybe or maybe not, but he has a similar style, and his bigger that both, hits harder than both and is much faster than both....* ohh yeah I forgot Marquez beat the shit out of both of them....

Do you think you could do a run down of those top ten most idiotic things I've said? And if you could do it in a David Letterman kind of way, I'd really appreciate it.

JMM will be fighting some nobody from Argentina, with a record of 42-0. The guy must be a killer he's got 1 KO in 42 fights has never fought outside of Argentina and has never fought anyone I have even heard of.
